The Windy City provided the back-drop for the third consecutive year forthe Chicago Construction Expo Jan. 7and 8. The event featured hockey greatDenis Savard and a host of free LICA-sponsored seminars, which comple-mented the showcase of the latest mod-els from all of the major manufacturersat the Renaissance Convention Center inSchaumburg, Ill.

Hundreds of new and repeat visitors,as well as first time and veteranexhibitors enjoyed the two days ofmeeting up, exchanging numbers, mar-keting sales and seminars.

Dave Webb, marketing manager ofWellBuilt Equipment, met plenty ofattendees and showed off his array of RTscissor lifts, DC articulating, DC scissorlifts, telescopic booms and RT forklifts.

“The Expo went really well for us. Wesold a couple pieces of equipment andpaid for our booth,” Webb said.“I wouldsuggest the show to other people, defi-nitely.”

Attendees also had chances to win anumber of giveaway prizes throughoutthe event including hats, jackets, freeInternet advertising and more.

During the Expo, hockey fans lined up

for autographs and a chance tomeet Savard, who was draftedby the Chicago Blackhawks inthe 1980 NHL Entry Draft.Savard spent 17 years on theice, primarily playing for theBlackhawks from 1980 to 1990and again from 1994 to 1997. In

New to this year’sConstruction Expowere free LICA-spon-sored seminars.

“This year’s showwas attended by a lotof sincere, hard-work-ing contractors look-ing to improve theirbusinesses and theirknowledge,” said JerryBiuso of LICA. “Theseminars that we ranwere, in my evaluation,a tremendous successand will continue togrow in the future. Theeducational level thatthe contractors tookaway from the semi-nars is something theycan use for a long time.I look forward to build-ing the seminar struc-ture in Chicago. It wasvery successful for us.We will definitely be apart of next year’sshow. ”
