Mr. and Mrs. Milton Hirsch residence, built in 1961
Join us for an afternoon reception in an iconic work of Mid-Century Modernism.
The Hirsch house features a curving plan, based on a segment of a circle. A finely detailed custom home, it includes numerous built-ins, skylights, and of
course the trademark Keck window vents. Curving hallways connect zones of activity.
Built on a steep wooded bluff that drops to Lake Michigan, the house complements
the spectacular site and takes advantage of the northeastern view toward the lake.
The Hirsches admired the Hopf House in Kenilworth, and requested some of the same features,
including the purple/black brick and the alumnum porte cochere that connects the drive-through garage to the house.
