Wat Chedi Liam or Chedi Ku Kham (วดเจดยเหลยม หรอ เจดยกคา) on Ko Klang Road, Wiang Kum Kam. It was built in 1288 during the reign of King Mengrai. After the King marched his army and conquered Lamphun town, he appointed his close councillor named Ai Fa to govern this town. The King and his troops moved to build a new city in the northeast for 2 years and then moved to build another new city on the Ping River in 1286 and named it Wiang Kum Kam. In 1287, he ordered craftsmen to make a blueprint of

a stupa from Wat Chammathewi in Lamphun to construct for the people to worship. This stupa was built in the Thai measure of 8 wa and 1 sok wide (16.5 metres) base with 22 wa high (44 metres) consisting of niches of Buddha images on the four sides containing 15 Buddha images at each side or 60 of them in total. The temple was abandoned for hundreds of years until 1908, when it was discovered by a wealthy Burmese man. With his faith, the Burmese tycoon had the chedi renovated by Burmese workers. As a result, the art style of the chedi changed from its original to the Burmese style; only the structure remains the same.
