HR STATUS in SNCUs

STAFF STATUS• Under the PCA (Program Cooperation Agreement), 22 SNCUs were functional across 21 districts

(Raipur, Durg, Dhamtari, Bilaspur, Bijapur, Rajnandgaon, Ambikapur, Jagdalpur, Koriya, Korba, Raigarh, Kanker, Dantewada, Jashpur, Mahasamund and Kawardha, Balod, Balrampur, Janjgir Champa, Sukhma

and Kondagaon) providing 24/7 care delivery to the infants. • All functional SNCUs have adequate number of trained staff nurses and Data Entry Operators (DEO).

• A total of 279 staff nurses, 22 Doctors and 21 DEOs were placed across these 22 SNCUs.

NEW ACTIVITIES

Ekam foundation Raipur facilitated Environmental Microbial Surveillance of labour rooms of district hospitals with the collaboration of NHM, UNICEF and AIIMS. Established Mini Skill Labs in three districts under UNICEF Mentor Nurse project.

HIGHLIGHTSOTHER ACTIVITIES

22 Sick Newborn Care Units are functional in 21 districts.Total 214 cold calls have been done to staff nurses and doctors through helpline number.328 blood samples were collected from SNCUs.Total 10 PHCs and 3 CHCs were visited in Dantewada for field mentoring. 35 staff Nurses and 2 ANMs who are placed at CHCs and PHCs have been trained by Mentor Nurses in Dantewada.Mentor Nurses have visited 39 facilities and trained 96 field staff and 52 ANMs in Bastar, Bijapur and Narayanpur.

NURSES - 279 out of the 296 sanctioned posts have been occupied. DEOs - All the sanctioned 21 posts have been occupied.

DOCTORS - 22 out of the sanctioned 65 posts have been occupied.

HELPLINE STATUSDuring the month, a total of 214 cold calls were made to staff nurses.

MICROBIAL SURVIELLANCE SAMPLES In March, 275 samples were collected from different SNCUs.

Out of these, a total of 92 samples were found positive.

ACTIVITIES STARTED IN APRIL MONTHEnvironmental Microbial Surveillance

Ekam foundation Raipur facilitated environmental microbial surveillance of labour rooms of district hospitals with a collaboration of NHM, UNICEF and AIIMS. A total of five district hospitals have been covered till now,

namely, DH Durg, DH Ambikapur, DH Raipur, Raipur Medical College and DHDantewada.

Establishment of Mini Skill Lab Ekam foundation Raipur established Mini Skill Labs in three districts under Unicef Nurse Mentor project,- at

District Hospital Bijapur, District Hospital Narayanpur and DistrictHospital Bastar.

DANTEWADA In Dantewada district, a total of 12 facilities

and 35 staff nurses and 2 ANMs were covered in the month April this year.

BASTAR A total of 51 staff nurses and 29 ANMs were covered in 25 facilities this month in Bastar.

NARAYANPUR11 staff nurses and 12 ANMs were covered in 5

facilities across Narayanpur district.

BIJAPURSimilarly, in Bijapur, total 9 facilities and 34 staff

nurses and 11 ANMs were covered in April.

EQUIPMENT MAINTAINANCE STATUSIn March, the bio-medical engineer in Dantewada District took a total of 26 maintenance calls, maximum of which (18) were breakdown calls. Out of the total 26 calls, 24 were attended to by the engineer while only 2 are pending,

and that too because of power problem.

EQUIPMENT STATUSIn all, 749 equipment supplies were inventoried and audited within the 16 units includ-ing District hospital, CHCs and PHCs. Out of these, 94% (706) equipment was functional

while 6% of the equipment (43) was not functional.
