Scoring Fear: An Evening of Classical Music and Gothic Horror Film Scores

BBC Philharmonic Dr Matt Foley presenter
Settle in and hold on tight as we explore music that makes us scared. Scoring Fear marks the first collaboration between the Manchester Centre for Gothic Studies and the BBC Philharmonic. The concert will feature music by an eclectic mix of composers whose work invokes suspense, awe, terror, and even horror with music by Bernard Herrmann, Dmitri Shostakovich and Béla Bartók.

Singing and Teaching Singing: A Holistic Course in Classical Voice
Professor Janice Chaplin directs a multidisciplinary course for singers and singing teachers. With 30 years of experience in the industry, Janice has sung professionally with all of the major opera companies and is joined by a spectacular roster of specialist teachers for this tailored course.Each day will involve warm ups, presentations, demonstrations, small-group workshops and masterclasses, and there will be opportunities to schedule one-to-one sessions with members of the team.
A short-course, residential and non-residential options are available.
