“We have been associated with Chester Racecourse

for a number of years both for staff events and client

entertaining. We have always been impressed with the

care and attention given to making these events special

and so when we were looking for a major sponsorship

opportunity, being able to stay with the team that we

trust was a perfect solution for our business”.

Chester Race Company

Welcome to the 2015 Chester Race Company Season.

2014 was yet another busy and exciting year for us, both on and off the track.

The 2014 Boodles May Festival provided notable highlights with Dr Marwan Koukash securing his third stanjames.com Chester Cup success with Suegioo. However the story of the season must be Brown Panther and his win in the Boodles Diamond Ormonde Stakes and the scenes of jubilation that accompanied this success. The fact that Brown

Panther went on to win the Irish St Ledger and provide such a boost to racing in Cheshire has only intensified the importance of this victory.

Moving onto Polo, Chester Polo Team were again victorious in the Gerald Balding Cup, becoming the first team in history to ever win this prestigious tournament three years in a row. Our May International tournament welcomed a new title sponsor, LDF and the

Audi International returned for its third year in September.

The company’s catering brand, Horseradish secured a contract at the National Trust’s Speke Hall, Liverpool and became a preferred catering partner at a number of

prestigious regional venues including: Tatton Park, Tabley Collection, Chester Cathedral and Liverpool Cathedral. The team also delivered spectacular weddings celebrations along with hospitality at The International Cheese Show (Nantwich), Cholmondeley

Pageant of Power and the Llangollen International Eisteddfod.

Our restaurants have experienced another successful 12 months, with Restaurant 1539 and The Weighing Room undergoing transformations. Following a sumptuous refurbishment, Restaurant 1539 continues to offer modern British menus in a new

contemporary and stylish space. Formally The Weighing Room, Commonhall St. Social launched in November last year and with a new team, the bar has been transformed

into a pre-loved, craft ale, county pub in Chester city centre. The White Horse has had another fantastic year and was voted Best Family Friendly Pub at the Chester & Cheshire

Food and Drink Awards.

Bangor on Dee Racecourse continued to flourish and instigated a number of new innovations; the course introduced a schooling day to its calendar which provided the

perfect stage to educate young horses in a safe and controlled environment. The day was extremely well received by trainers and there are plans for it to become an annual event.

Bangor also held its first Pony Club pony races, providing a wonderful opportunity to children from the local parishes and also held The Thoroughbred Association’s second

Stars of Tomorrow Hunt Foal Show where Mrs Pauline Cowey’s exceptional Malinas ex

Madam Jolie filly took Supreme Champion.

We hope that 2015 will be equally as successful, and look forward to welcoming

you to one of our fixtures or events this year.
