Brethren, June was an active month with two very good presentations, district presentations, a degree conferral, and a picnic. In Illustrious Reed Browns presentation, he mentioned moving through the chairs on the journey to the East, and how we are so ever slightly elevated to the next position. We spend a good amount of the time in each new position learning the ritual for that chair and the succeeding chair. We are so fo- cused on learning the ritual, that we dont often realize the subtle effects taking place on us. It is only in moments of reflection we can look back and see how many rough corners had been smoothed down. Geometry is the noblest of sciences because we can demonstrate and determine the mysteries of the Grand Artificer through mathematical models. Geometry is the cornerstone of the Universe and is a requirement in the successful study of the other arts. Let none enter here who is igno- rant of Geometry(Plato – inscribed above his institute of learning). Right Worshipful Don McAndrews reinforced this idea in his presentation, Geometry”, and he went on to show how Pythagoras unveiled the geometry of music with the octave system of notes. July 4 th is upon us, which reminds me of the number thirteen. There were thirteen colonies when the Declaration of Independence was written. After the states won the war, the new compact made between the states was signed by thirty-nine delegates, a multiple of thirteen (13 X 3), with thir- teen of the signers Freemasons. Is the number thirteen unlucky? I feel very lucky to be a part of this great experiment. Be safe during your celebration of the birth of our nation. The August sky will be filled with the constellation Virgo, and Virgo played an important role in the formation of the Nations Capitol. The White House, the Capitol building, and the Washing- ton Monument form the Federal Triangle, with each corner lining up with the stars in Virgo: Arc- turus, Spica, and Regulus. On the evenings from the 10 th to the 15 th , as the sun sets over Pennsyl- vania Avenue, the Constellation Virgo appears in the sky above the Federal Triangle. At the same moment, the setting sun appears precisely above the apex of a stone pyramid in the Old Post Of- fice tower, which is just wide enough to occlude the solar disc. It is at this time on the 15 th of Au- gust that the stars of Virgo are rendered invisible in the brilliance of the suns rays. Be sure to join us July 18 th for Hawaiian Shirt night and a presentation by Jason Richards on Noahchide”. If you dont have your ticket for the Grand Masters Official Visit, please make your request prior to the event on July 20 th by contacting Right Worshipful Carl Weaver or me. The Official Visit will be at the Alexandria Scottish Rite with a social time starting at 6:00pm and dinner at 6:30pm. The Masters and Wardens meeting will be held at Kemper-Macon Ware on the 23 rd - dinner will be at 6:30 and the meeting at 7:30. Secretary’s Corner Brethren, We recently brought over the books from the Columbia Temple and it is time to start combining the two libraries. If you want to help with the process or possibly manage it, let me know. Other things are afoot as well. After this year, I will not be able to continue as the secretary due to some work issues that are affecting my schedule. We will need to elect a new secretary in December. If you are interested in taking on this role or have a suggestion for someone who would be a good fit, please let me know. I will want to get someone horsed up on the duties pretty quickly. Thanks, Carl Weaver

Left: Rt. Wor. Don McAndrews presented on sacred geometry at our second stated meet-ing in June. As usual, he was a fount of knowledge and ex-plained some of the ancient mysteries relat-ed to various geomet-rical symbols, including triangles, circles and even the vesica piscis. Right: Jonathan Heisey-Grove and Carl Weaver traveled in the foreign country of Savage, Maryland, where they attended Patmos-Solomon’s Lodge. Bro. Weaver gave a talk on the importance of ritual in our traditions.
