28 - 024Synthesis of a Layered Zinc Phosphate, [NH3(CH2)2NH2 (CH2)3NH3][Zn2(PO4)(HPO4)2] ·H2O, and Its Transformation to an Extra-Large Pore Three-Dimensional Zinc Phosphate, [NH3(CH2)2NH2
(CH2)3NH3] [Zn3(PO4)(HPO4)3]. — Two new zinc phos-phates, [NH3(CH2)2NH2 (CH2)3NH3] [Zn2(PO4)(HPO4)2] ·H2O (I) and[NH3(CH2)2NH2 (CH2)3NH3] [Zn3(PO4)(HPO4)3] (II), are synthesized inthe presence of N-(2-aminoethyl)-1,3-diaminopropane from a mixture of ZnO,HCl, H3PO4, and H2C2O4 in THF/H2O (autoclave, 75 ◦C, 3–5 d (II)). Asrevealed by single crystal XRD, (I) crystallizes in the monoclinic space groupP21/c with Z = 4 and (II) in the triclinic space group P1 with Z = 2. Bothstructures consist of ZnO4, PO4, and (H)PO4 tetrahedral units linked throughtheir vertices. The structure of (I) is built up from one-dimensional zigzagladders, whereas (II) has a three-dimensional structure with large bifurcatedchannels. (I) transforms into (II) on heating under appropriate conditions andappears to have a close structural relationship with (II). — (NATARAJAN,SRINIVASAN; Chem. Commun.
