KGaA, Weinheim www.cheminform.wiley-vch.de Germanium I 4700 Synthesis and Characterization of a Cadmium Germanium Phosphate CdGe(OH) 3 PO 4 with an Open Framework. — The new title compound is solvo- thermally synthesized from GeO2, H3PO4, and Cd(NO3)2 in the presence of NEt 3 (H2O/1,2-propanediol (5.3:1), autoclave, 120 °C, 8 d, 85% yield). CdGe(OH)3PO4 crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Cmca with Z = 8 (single crystal XRD). Its open-framework structure consists of a mixed network of GeO6 octahedra, CdO6 octa- hedra, and PO 4 tetrahedra and contains one-dimensional channels formed by 3- and 6-membered rings.
