Compounds of type (III), (V), (VI), (IX), and (X) are prepared by known methods (no yields given). The compounds are tested for their inhibition of human cytomegalovirus (HCMV). The data show that the benzyl- or chlorophenyl-substituted compounds are more efficient than the benzyloxymethyl-substituted compounds.
