A combination of aq. H2O2 and carbodiimides is found to promote the efficient epoxidation of various olefins in the presence of either weak acid or mild base. This new epoxidation process offers several advantages such as simple and mild experimental procedure, readily available and economical reagents compared to conventional epoxidation procedures.
