Removal of “Inc” and “4” Removal of “Inc” • Period for removal: within one (1) academic year where there are 3 regular removal periods.
• How: by passing a missed examination or meeting all the course requirements
• Not included in the computation of grade averages for scholastic standing.
Removal of “4” • Period of removal: same as for “Inc”
• How: by passing a removal exam. Only one re-‐examination is allowed.
• If student does not remove the grade of “4” within the prescribed period, the “4” becomes a “5”.
“Inc” is given to a student whose class standing is passing, but lacks some requirement which if submiBed could mean a passing grade.
“4” is given a student whose class standing is marginally below passing. Not all teachers give a grade of “4”.

• Absence in 20% of the hours of recitation, laboratory, or any other scheduled work in one (1) subject è if majority of absences are excused, student is dropped from the subject
è if majority of absences are not excused, student is given a grade of “5”

Dropping of Subjects and Leave of Absence (LOA)
DROPPING of SUBJECTS • Requirements for dropping: – Filled-‐up online dropping form
– Consent of instructor & Dean
• When to drop: no later than ¾ of the hours prescribed for the semester/term
LEAVE of ABSENCE • Requests for LOA is made in writing to the Dean, stating the reason for the leave, and specifying the period.
• A teacher may give a grade of “5” if LOA is applied after ¾ of prescribed number of class hours & students’ class standing is below “3”.
• Withdrawal without formal LOA è AWOL

Suspension/Withdrawal of Registration Privileges
Registration privileges are suspended or withdrawn for the following cases:
• student goes on AWOL • scholastic delinquency

What is Dismissal and can one recover from it?
• Dismissal = dropped from the rolls of the college or school
• Students on probation who again fail in 50% or more of the total no. of enrolled units shall be dismissed.
• Dismissed students may be admitted to another unit of the University if the VCSA Rinds another Rield of study that their natural aptitude and interest may qualify them for.
• A second dismissal renders student ineligible for readmission to any college of the University

Maximum Residence Rule (MRR) • Students who fail to Sinish the requirements of a course of any college within a period of actual residence equivalent to 1 ½ times the normal length of the course concerned have breached the MRR and will need to appeal to be allowed to continue their studies.
