MSc in Engineering(Chemical and biochemical Engineering, Biomass and Energy)

CHEMICAL AND BIOCHEMICAL ENGINEERING, BIOMASS AND ENERGY

The programme is a research-based MSc programme fo-cusing on theoretical, experimental and practical aspects of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering and its use in the field of converting biomass and waste to energy and chemi-cals. The Master of Science (MSc) programme will give you a degree in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering with a spe-cialisation aiming at using biomass and waste as feedstock and energy source replacing fossil resources and fuels.

STRUCTUREThe MSc programme in Chemical and Biochemical Engineer-ing, Biomass and Energy focuses on the following areas:

• Processes rooted in chemical or biochemical engineer-ing, but applied to manage energy use and to control the environmental load of production facilities

• A large element of cross-disciplinary design and develop-ment

• Sustainability of chemical production

• Knowledge about the Chinese labor market and culture will be an integrated part of the programme

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Admission to the MSc programme in Chemical and Biochemi-cal Engineering is based on:

• A bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, biochemi-cal engineering, chemical technology, biotechnology or a related engineering fields

• A solid foundation of mathematics and natural sciences from the bachelor’s degree equivalent to 1-1½ years of study

• High level English language proficiency

YOUR FUTURE CAREER

The MSc programme gives you a solid starting point for contributing to the development of your society, bringing chemical and biochemical innovation from laboratories to useful production. Graduates are qualified to work in in-novation driven enterprises of any size, particularly in the field of bio-based energy.

You will be specially qualified to work in challenging in-ternational environments. Your base in this intercultural programme makes an international consulting career a pos-sibility.
