You Shoulda Been ThereThis December, we're decking the walls with timeless, iconic portraits by world traveler and everyman photographer, Robert Whitman

Robert Whitman loves to travel. He's been

all over the world, from Moscow and Havana to Rio de Janeiro, Acapulco, India and beyond. No matter where his fancy takes him, Robert brings along his finicky Contax T3 point and shoot film camera. "I take pictures of real-life moments that happen to inspire me," says Whitman. "Once, in Tijuana, I came across a donkey painted as a zebra. I turned a corner, and there it was, taking a piss." Whitman's been documenting one of his favorite places, an ocean-

side swimming pool in Havana, Cuba, for years. He says the place just fascinates him. Whitman is also

fascinated by the act of smoking: putting out a cigar on a shoe, a gentleman lighting two cigarettes (one for himself and another for his lady) and all the little

gestures that go along with smoking. From amusing to mind-bending, see the world through Whitman's eyes on the walls of Chelsea Market this December and January.

Meet: Tuck ShopChoo, sangers, lamington and mash -- NYC's beloved Aussie pie shop opens at Chelsea Market

Tuck Shop opened in 2005 when an Irish lad named

Niall Grant told his Australian mate Lincoln Davies (a chef) that there were loads of Irish

pubs but not nearly enough Australian pie shops in New York City. Tuck Shop pies were a hit with East Villag-ers from the start and the lads expanded last summer, opening a second location on St Mark's Place. Now, you can also satisfy your Aussie pie craving at the Tuck Shop kiosk in the CM arcade. tuck-shopnyc.com

Up Chef CreekMeet Orianne Cosentino: Chef, food blogger, artist

By day, Orianne Cosentino creates recipes, conjures new ideas and creates unique

agendas for her many NYC cooking classes. She also sporadically updates her blog, Up Chef Creek. Her most recent art show, "Leftovers," graced the CM walls during their fall foodie events, and reflects the rem-nants of a personal chef's fridge. See upchefcreek.com for more on OC's whereabouts.

Kale Salad w/ Roasted Squash

If you’re feeling frisky, accent this salad with some freshly grated nutmeg and toasted nuts.

· 1 medium kabocha squash, peeled, seeded and cut into 1 inch chunks (Fuit Exchange)· 5-8 kale leaves (any variety)· Juice and zest of 1 lemon· 2 tbsps EVOO (Buon Italia or the Filling Station)· 6 oz. Dunbarton Blue Cheese (Lucy's Whey)

1. Season the squash with salt and pepper, coat lightly with oil and roast in a 400 degree oven

until just tender - about 16-20 minutes.2. Remove the kale stems. Leav-ing the leaf whole, roll it up as tightly as possible, hold it tight and use a chef's knife to shred it as thinly as you can. 3. Toss the shredded kale and roasted squash in the olive oil and lemon juice and zest. Season liberally with salt and pepper. Let this mellow for at least 15 minutes. The salt and lemon will break down the kale a bit, mak-ing it more pleasant to eat. 4. Crumble the cheese over the top and enjoy! grillachef.com.
