ENGLISH
KiddyGuard Avant is a safety gate designed for children up to 24 months of age. KiddyGuard Avant protects door or stair openings which are between 0 -130cm (0 - 51 inches) wide.

Read these instructions carefully before use and keep for future reference.
Your child may be hurt if you do not follow the instructions.Incorrect installation or positioning of this safety gate can be dangerous.
Never use the KiddyGuard Avant if any component is damaged or missing.
The KiddyGuard Avant should not be subject to mechanical damage e.g. hitting it with sharp, hard objects or scratching from pets claws as this will cause damage.
When fitted in place, check the barrier to ensure that it is properly fixed and secure.
After closing the KiddyGuard Avant, always make sure the the locking mechanism is securely engaged.
The KiddyGuard Avant general condition and safety mechanism should be checked periodically for general condition, with particular reference to the security of attachments and operation of the locking device.
Do not allow adults, children or pets to climb over or under the safety barrier, it may damage the gate and cause injury.
This product complies with European Standard EN 1930:2000 and US Safety Standard ASTM F1004-00 which do not address products designed for use across window openings.
Stop using the barrier if the child is capable of climbing over it.
Additional and replacement parts should only be obtained from the manufacturer or distributor.

Use at top or bottom of stairs
a) TOP of stairs - Base of KiddyGuard must be at floor level 15cm/6inches back from the top step
b) BOTTOM of stairs - Base of KiddyGuard must be at floor level and as close to first step as possible.
a) to the wall to the right and in front of the opening/stairway.

b) attach to the wall to the left and in front of the opening/stairway.

Decide whether the KiddyGuard will attach:
WARNING The position of the safety barrier in relation to the stairs may have an adverse effect on your child’s safety. Please note the following:
-if the safety barrier is used at the top of the stairs to prevent the child from falling down the stairs, it must not be placed on any stair below the level of the top stair;
-if the safety barrier is used at the bottom of the stairs to prevent the child from climbing the stairs it must be placed on the lowest stair.
3. First remove the top cover:

Attach the bottom wall bracket flush with the floor ensuring the screw holes are aligned horizontally.

c) Position top wall bracket to the top of the housing.
d) Use a spirit level to ensure the housing is vertical and mark the locations for the screw holes. Follow steps 1-4 (below) depending on the material the gate is being attached to and screw thetop wall bracket in place

Make sure that the gate is mounted firmly andvertically.
Attaching to:
1) Wood - Use the screws provided. Drill pilot holes before tightening the screws.
2) Concrete/brick - Use the screws + rawl plugs/ plastic anchors provided. Drill hole, insert rawl plugs/ plastic anchors flush with wall and then tighten screws.
3)Other wall materials - use an appropriate fixing system
4) Bannister - use the bannister installation kit. See accessories.
4a)
Attach the handle:
i) Pull out a portion of the mesh (see fig. 8)
ii) Align tabs on handle with holes on locking rod. (5b)
iii) Rotate handle back until it snaps into place. (5c)
N.B. If there is a Skirting/Base Board on the wall to which the housing is to be attached, a piece of wood, the thickness of the skirting/base board will need to be positioned between the top bracket of the KiddyGuard Avant and the wall.
5a) Push the top cover firmly back onto the gate housing, with the high side flush to the wall.

Prepare the locking strip
If there is a Skirting/Base Board on the wall to which the locking strip is to be attached, a piece of wood, the thickness of the Skirting Board, will need to be positioned between the locking strip and the wall, at the

MATERIAL COMPOSITION OF THE KIDDYGUARD AVANT

The plastic parts are made of polyamide (PA6), Polyoxymethylene (POM), Polypropylene (PP) and Polyester (PE).The body of the KiddyGuard Avant is made of aluminium. The materials are chosen for their strength and resistance. All parts are non-toxic and can be recycled. The mesh of the kiddyguard is flameproof.
All parts of the KiddyGuard Avant can be cleaned with a mild, liquid household detergent on a damp cloth.Do no use chlorine or abrasive powder OR liquid detergents.

The KiddyGuard Avant is easy to operate single-handed.
To close the KiddyGuard Avanta) Push down the button on the top of the gate.

c) Use the handle to pull the gate across, and hook it onto the locking strip.
IMPORTANT!AFTER CLOSING KIDDYGUARD AVANT, ALWAYS CHECK THAT THE GATE IS LOCKED, BY PUSHING GENTLY AGAINST THE MESH.
To open the KiddyGuard AvantRelease the gate by repeating the operations in 8a and 8b. Unhook the gate and let it roll up.
