GARBAGE & RECYCLING COLLECTION CHANGES
EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 1, 2015 GARBAGE AND RECYCLING COLLECTION
WILL BE PICKED
UP EVERY OTHER TUESDAY. GARBAGE AND RECYCLING WILL BE COLLECTED
AT
THE SAME TIME, BY THE SAME TRUCK, FOR ALL CURBSIDE COLLECTION!
ALL WASTE (GARBAGE & RECYCLING) MUST BE CURBISDE AND ON THE
MAILBOX SIDE OF THE ROAD BY 6:00A.M. TO ENSURE COLLECTION. From now
until August 28, 2015 your garbage collection of Tuesday, Wednesday
and Thursdays continues. Effective September 1, 2015 the current
Recycling Schedule WILL BE the Schedule for both Garbage and
Recycling. All you have to remember is to put out one (1) garbage
bag out with your recycling bags every other Tuesday according to
the current Recycling Schedule! Any additional bags of garbage
require a bag tag. An extra bag will continue to be permitted on
your regularly scheduled Garbage and Recycling pickup after a
Statutory holiday. On any collection day, additional bags will be
collected if they have a Township of Chatsworth bag tag attached.
Additional Bag tags are available at the Township of Chatsworth
office, Holland Centre Gas Bar or at Variety Plus.
RECYCLING SCHEDULES WILL BE STAYING THE SAME!!! The Township of
Chatsworth encourages residents to REUSE, REDUCE & RECYCLE in
efforts to reduce landfill waste!! PLEASE RECYCLE! Recyclables
include; rinsed glass bottles, jars, aluminum & steel cans;
aluminum foil, trays, pie plates; empty paint & aerosol cans;
plastic bottles, containers & items with symbols 1-7;
newsprint, flyers, loose & fine papers; boxboard, cardboard
& corrugated cardboard; magazines, catalogues & phonebooks;
egg cartons, books & other paper products; drink cartons &
tetra boxes; clam shell bakery containers; plastic pails &
containers with the recycling symbol. There is no limit to the
amount of recyclables collected. Please note that collection can
occur any time after 6:00a.m. and must be placed on the mailbox
side of Township roads. Place in clear or blue bags, bins, hampers
or cardboard boxes. LANDFILL SITES AND HOURS There are two landfill
sites located within our municipality, which anyone from our
Township can use;
SULLIVAN LANDFILL (702320 SDRD 5) Saturday 9am-4:30pm, Monday
10am-4:30pm (Nov/ 12-Mar/13) Saturday 9am-4:30pm, Monday 9am-4:30pm
(Apr/13-Nov/13)
MARKDALE LANDFILL (775557 HWY 10) - Saturday 9am-2pm, Monday
9am-5pm (except holidays, open Tuesday)
