Local RoutesThe tarmac roads of the Chatsworth Estate are perfect for a leisurely ride.
Monsal and Tissington trailsThe High Peak, Monsal and Tissington Trails are about 6 miles away and there are many other local trails and quiet roads. Bike hire is available at Carsington Water Visitor Centre.
BaslowThe village is a 15 minute walk away, and is home to pubs, cafes and exclusive shops.
BakewellPicturesque riverside town, the Monday market is worth a visit.
Buxton The peak district’s famous spa town is not to be missed.

Don’t forget your wellies, the area is brilliant for dog walking.
There’s a nice walk to Bakewell through Edensor village.
Visit the House with its ornate rooms, paintings, gardens and the famous cascade. Spend some time exploring the park, laid out by Capability Brown.
The Monuments walk above Baslow on Baslow edge is stunning & not too difficult.
Chatsworth farm shop is brilliant for fresh quality produce.

The waterfalls and streams at Lumsdale are a sight to behold and change with the seasons for amazing photography.
Visit Lathkill Dale to see the point where the river emerges from the side of the valley after running underground. It’s one of a few places in England you can see it happening on such a scale. Don’t forget to look up to see the Peregrine Falcons while you’re there.
The cycle track on the Monsal Trail from Buxton to Bakewell is superb, you can hire bikes at the Buxton end.
