THE WINE & THE REGION

This beautiful Bordeaux wine reigns from the heart of the Entre-Deux-Mers region in Bordeaux at the beautifulwinery of Chateau Allégret, situated on clay slopes and limestone.

Entre-Deux-Mers is a large sub-region of Bordeaux whose name translates literally to "between two seas", actually referring to the Garonne and Dordogne Rivers, which form the area’s southern and northern boundariesrespectively. The prettiest of Bordeaux regions, it occupiesa substantial area stretching from the city of Bordeaux in the west almost all the way to the farmland outside Bergerac in the east. Mostly fertile and green, rolling gently between 33 and 330 feet above sea level, the soilshere are predominantly alluvial – sand and clay in varyingproportions – which is to be expected given its name and location.

THE STYLEChateau Allégret presents a traditional expression of a classic Bordeaux wine. The blend of Cabernet Sauvignonand Merlot gives the wine bright and rich red fruits, suchas black currants and fresh berries. Layered with the drytannins and concentrated texture, while balanced with its acidity and minerality, this wine drinks beautifully from start to the structured finish.
