Small group training is a class of 8-10 participants who experience the benefits of having a trainer at a lower financial point. In small group training, the participants are often doing the same exercise
together or different things on their own customized level of fitness/ability and the trainer coaches them through the class. Some benefits of small group training include more personal
attention from the trainer, motivation and support from the group, adherence to the program and RESULTS.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS The following classes run on a 5 week cycle from April 21 – May 25, 2019
MEMBERS ONLY
CIRCUIT TRAINING Burn more calories in less time. This challenging total body workout, consists of blocks of weight and cardio training. Using equipment such as dumbbells, balance balls and resistance tubes to help you improve your strength and endurance. Routines will be modified to reflect progress made throughout the 6 week session to help you get to your next fitness level.
PILATES Gain a better understanding of how Pilates works to strengthen the center of the body, lengthen the spine, increase the body’s awareness though mental focus, build muscle tone, and gain flexibility. Pilates is safe and rehabilitative for people with back pain, arthritis, osteoporosis, scoliosis, and limited flexibility.
TRX TRX Suspension Training is a total-body fitness program that uses gravity against your own body weight. TRX Training develops strength, balance, flexibility and core stability. Moves can be modified to suit any fitness level. Class is limited to eight participants.
TRX CIRCUIT The TRX you love plus BOSU balls, medicine balls, bands and weights all used in a circuit style format.
TRX S&C – Strength & Conditioning TRX S&C classes focus on strengthening the entire body through progressive sets and reps. Each set should challenge the participant to change the condition of the exercise through balance, body angle and speed of exercise. This class is meant for all fitness levels.
SS TRX (monthly sessions) This 30 minute class is for active older adults looking to build core strength in a low impact way. Through the use of TRX units and light resistance training, you will build strength, endurance and balance.
BARRE Barre classes mix elements of Pilates, dance, yoga and functional training, and the moves are choreographed to motivating music. In each energizing and targeted workout, you'll use the barre and exercise equipment such as mini-balls and small hand weights to sculpt, slim and stretch your entire body.
KID’S YOGA Improve strength, flexibility and coordination with yoga. Children will learn how to focus and center themselves with various breathing and visualization techniques and practice fun and challenging poses.
YOGA SERIES In this 6 week yoga series, you will experience 6 different styles of yoga ranging from Restorative to Ashtanga. The instructor will guide you with a hand's on approach in order to strengthen your practice. More information about each style can be found on the YOGA SERIES flyer.

Stephen Bauer is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and also certified in Fitness Nutrition, TRX, and Trigger Point Foam Rolling He specializes in strength & conditioning, muscle/cardio endurance and TRX Group & Individual classes.
QUEENAX TRAINING
Queenax is a multifunctional training frame that makes use of the entire space, turning it into a highly versatile training system. It becomes your very own playground with
everything from monkey bars to punching bags. The options are endless with Queenax. Mix and match to create unique workouts with endless possibilities.
30 minute format Queenax classes are FREE to members. (Monday 8:30am class is 1 hour and fee based)

ABOUT OUR INSTRUCTORS

Shelbey Molina is a master Barre instructor with a passion for continued education., Outside of practicing and teaching Barre, you can find Shelbey spending time with her husband and kids, enjoying the sunshine (even in the Texas heat) gardening, and always striving to make today better than yesterday. “See y’all at the barre!”
Rich Watkins enjoys pushing others to their limits through a series of strength training, HIIT and mobility drills. You can find him in the weight room or on the BOOTCAMP field ready to take it to the max!
Nadya Watson is AFAA Certified Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor, Les Mills Body Pump, Body Combat, CXWORX and Silver Sneakers instructor. Fitness is her passion and she is devoted to helping people push towards their goals, get stronger, & transform their lives. Constantly researching current industry information and integrating powerlifting, cross training and HIIT in both her workouts and her trainer routine helps her and her clients achieve their best.
Terian Szymczak is the SR Director of the fitness department. Her journey began long ago with her love for ballet. She traded in her ballet shoes for sneakers and never looked back. As a LM Body Step, Body Pump, CXWorx, GRIT and BARRE instructor, Terian can motivate and modify for all fitness levels. She is a true inspiration and a superb leader of the YMCA fitness tribe.

HIIT, or high intensity interval training, is a training technique in which you give an all-our, 100% effort through quick, intense bursts of exercise followed by short, sometimes active recovery periods.
This type of training gets and keeps your heart rate up and burns more fat in less time.
It’s the FASTEST WAY TO MAX RESULTS!
The CHASCO Family YMCA offers a variety of HIIT based classes including Les Mills GRIT, instructor choreographed YHIIT and BOSU HIIT classes, all utilizing a variety of equipment.
$10 a month gets you all the HIIT you can HANDLE. Once you have registered for HIIT, you can take as many classes as you want for the entire month.

Jane Metcalf is NASM certified personal trainer with additional certifications in TRX and Queenax functional training. As a mom of 3, she especially loves to help postpartum women rebuild their core strength and learn how to make fitness a part of their self-care routine.
Julie Talkington is a certified Health Coach, Personal Trainer, and Group Exercise Instructor. She has been working at the CHASCO Family YMCA for almost 14 years. She has been helping people improve their lives through better health, wellness, and fitness for over 16 years. Her goals are to help people make sustainable lifestyle and behavior changes, as well as meet their fitness goals.
Lara Brocklesby got her love of Pilates right here at Y but her training from a Balance Body training studio in Georgetown. She enjoys working with people to build their flexibility and strength through the Pilates principles.
Melissa Carpenter has been a fitness instructor for 9 years. She teaches dance cardio, TRX, HITT and most recently yoga. Her passion for yoga started over 2 years ago, when needing to mend a shoulder injury. She quickly realized there was so much more to yoga than stretching or holding poses. Yoga is a way of healing the body, mind and soul. Melissa also believes yoga keeps us young at heart and brings a power to each individual, while breaking through personal barriers.
Maura Morrow discovered Yoga over 20 years ago and fell in love with how it changed her on the inside and out. She completed her 200hr certification in 2011 and is also certified in Kid’s Yoga. No one is too tall or too small in my class! She teaches a variety of classes for all age groups including Family Yoga. “To me, life is about connecting - to yourself, to the people in your life, and finding gratitude and being joyful. Yoga shows the way!”
Kathy Solano has been a group fitness instructor for 2 years. She teaches HIIT, Zumba and Cardio Dance and is also a certified personal trainer and Queenax trainer. She enjoys working with people of all fitness levels. Her passion of health and wellness motivates others to bring out their best.
Kim Salazar discovered her love for fitness in the 7th grade through team sports. She went on to earn her degree in Exercise Science and then became a personal trainer and group fitness instructor. Kim teaches Zumba, Cardio Dance, Les Mills Body Pump and YHIIT classes. Her drive and intensity motivate others to dig a little deeper and push harder for maximum benefits.
Michelle Collins has had a life-long love for working out and helping others reach their goals. She started teaching kickboxing in 2009 and Body Combat in 2010. She became certified in GRIT in 2013. She loves the challenge of high intensity training and the fact it can be tailored to each individual.

BOOTCAMP is total body OUTDOOR training.
Challenge your body in a new way with this intense variation of exercises. You will gain strength, build endurance and boost metabolism through the use of bodyweight exercises,
strength training and interval drills in a 60 minute class.
The CHASCO Family YMCA offers a morning and an evening BOOTCAMP class, each with a different take on the BOOTCAMP concept.
BOOTCAMP classes run on a monthly cycle. You will finish the month stronger and more fit that when you started. All fitness levels welcome. $20 a month per class.
Please be prepared for Texas heat. Bring a large water bottle, towel, sunscreen and mat.
