The Fruit of Our Labors
As the year winds down and the end of my
term draws near, I am happy to reflect on the pro-
gress that the lodge has made this year. We have
made progress in Masonic Education and will most
likely qualify for the award for meeting our goals
this year from Grand Lodge. We have made pro-
gress on the building, as the flat roof is now sealed
and we no longer have leaks in the restrooms. We
have made progress on our degree work, we now
have members of Dunedin No. 192 who can perform
lectures, and we are almost able to perform an entire
Master Mason degree without needing assistance
from any other lodge.
What I am most pleased over is the progress
we have made in our charity work. We had a very
successful Bikes for Books campaign this year and
awarded the BJ Sammon scholarship to two ROTC
students from Dunedin High School. We will soon
be purchasing gift cards to give to families from
Dunedin Elementary that will not be able to afford a
special meal this year at the many celebrated holi-
days of this season. In addition to these charities, I
am asking the Craft to participate in a new one this
year. I have always especially enjoyed our Christ-
mas dinners that we hold in December each year and
after reflecting on the occasion, a thought occurred
to me. Why do we waste our time buying nominal

gifts for each other in celebration of the season
instead of giving to someone who truly needs a
gift this year?
I am proposing that this year, instead of
buying gifts for each other, that we each buy a
toy for a girl or boy, bring them to the Christmas
party, after which time we will take them and
donate them to the children of the Shriner's Hos-
pital. As I am sure many of you are aware, the
Shiner’s Hospital treats very sick children at little
or no cost to the families and I cannot think of a
worse place for a child to wake up on Christmas
morning than being in a hospital bed. Perhaps
we can make a small difference in the lives of
these children by donating a toy for them to open
on Christmas morning. I do not plan on setting a
dollar amount, I will let each of you decide what
toy you would like to donate.
I thank you all for a great and productive
year at Dunedin No. 192. I have enjoyed my role
this year as your Worshipful Master and I have
confidence in the overall direction of the Lodge
in the future. My Brothers, it has been an honor
to serve with such excellent men and Masons.
Yours Truly, Andy Reeves.

Dunedin Lodge meets for its Stated Meetings on the 3rd Monday @ 7:00 p.m .

Secretary’s Notes
Brethren,
Well it seems yet another year has just about run its
course. In the current state of affairs our fraternity
finds itself in I think our lodge is fairly fortunate at this
time to have a dedicated core group of Brothers who
are willing and eager to do the work of our order. We
are also fortunate to have had dedicated Brothers in the
past that have left us a good legacy to follow not to
mention a sound financial footing as well. It cannot,
however, be emphasized enough that we need all of
our Brothers to participate as much as their cable tow
allows. If we are to first survive and then thrive, as we
should, we must get more brothers involved and we
must bring more good men into the fold. If you are
reading this and you have not been involved in the
lodge lately please consider lending your talents once
again. Even if you only come to lodge that would be
infinitely better than not coming at all. We must be
together to learn from each other and it truly is a
shame that most of us who are currently active have
never even met the majority of the Brothers in our
lodge. We need to fix this so let’s make an effort to do
just that!
As you all know our lodge is coming up on the centen-
nial anniversary of the granting of our lodge charter
which occurred on January 19, 1916. Next year Janu-
ary 19th falls on a Tuesday immediately after our
stated communications. We have decided therefore to
hold the centennial celebration on Saturday January
16th at 3 PM so as to maximize participation. Every-
one that has an email address in our lodge database
should have received an electronic invite already. If
you haven’t received it no need to worry just go to this
link on your computers internet web browser and
RSVP by January 2nd.

Additionally I encourage you to copy this link and
send it to anyone you think may be interested in help-
ing us celebrate 100 years of Freemasonry here at
Dunedin 192!
As the chairman for the committee that is planning this
auspicious event I am seeking Brothers who are inter-
ested in giving some comments at the formal dinner. I
would love to hear from our Brothers about what the
lodge has meant to them and share some entertaining
stories from our collective past. If you are interested
please contact me directly via email at
[email protected] or via phone at (352) 871-0673.
Our Grand Master, M:.W:. Steven Boring and his
Grand line officers will be in attendance to perform a
cornerstone re-dedication ceremony for us and the
Dunedin Middle School pipers, drummers and Scottish
highland dancers will be in attendance as well to help
us celebrate in style! After the ceremony we will retire
to the Dunedin Community Center for our formal
dinner along with speakers and presentations.
If you have ideas or input in general for our centennial
celebration please contact me at the email address or
phone number above. Together we can make this a
truly special and memorable event for all!

FROM THE WEST FROM THE SOUTH
Brethren,
I thought for this Trestle Board I would share a piece of Masonic culture with you all. This Masonic Poem was written by: Bro. David E. Guyton, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

FRATERNITY
By BRO. DAVID E. GUYTON
(From The Builder, Anamosa, Iowa, October, 1915)
We build us temples tall and grand,
With gifts we heap our altars high,
Unheeding how, on every hand,
The hungry and the naked cry.
We sound our creeds in trumpet tone,
With zeal we compass land and sea,
Unmindful of the sob and moan
Of souls that yearn for sympathy.
We hurl to hell, we bear above,
With equal ease we loose or bind,
Forgetful quite that God is Love,
Brothers,
As I prepare this edition of the Trestle-
board the significance of this edition just
stuck me. This is the last Trestleboard to
be sent out in the first 100 years of Dune-
din Lodge. The next one will be the first
edition beginning the second 100 years of
our Lodge. I feel blessed to be a part of
our History.
As I look back on my own Masonic ca-
reer I reflect on the Brothers who made
an impact on me personally. Some are
still with us such as Romeo Scerbo, Bill
McIntosh, Ken Giesow and Tim Bryce.
While I have made several lasting friend-
ships I feel that these Brothers have im-
pacted my view more than they will ever
know. I want to list the names of the
Brothers that impacted me most but are
no longer physically with us. While sev-
eral of them hold titles such as Worship-
ful, Right Worshipful and others, I want
to recognize them simply as “My Broth-
ers”.

While this list is by no means complete,
these are the Brothers I most remember
and I know you younger members may
not recognize the names, but these Broth-
ers gave me my strong Masonic Beliefs.
