Charter Dinner 2015 The Rotary Club of Retford’s 78 th Charter was a great night, not just for the club and its members but, we hope, a fun night for our many guests for the evening. Our President Elect Derek Broughton together with Junior Vice President David Towers did a sterling job in making the night run smoothly. That together with the praise heaped upon the club and its members by the Governor of Rotary District 1220 Rtn. Steve Lawes, I feel sure, made us all feel that little bit taller.

Charter Dinner 2015

The Rotary Club of Retford’s 78th Charter was a great night, not just for the club and its members but, we hope, a fun night for our many guests for the evening.

Once again the food provided by Ye Olde Bell was sumptuous and was combined with good fellowship and friendship throughout the evening. It was also great to see our President Rtn. Jack Anderson so ably supported by his family all suitably adorned in their Scottish tartan.

The evening was rounded off with an hour of jokes, observations and great humour all delivered by our comedian for the , Bill Woolland from Liverpool. Although in conversation with fellow Lancastrian, Vince Hines, we discovered that Vince thought that Warrington had been moved into Cheshire but Bill said not (according to Wikipedia it is) and that if you travelled through Huyton you would not leave your car or you may come back to it on bricks. Bill also told us, and probably convinced us, that the Monkeys in Knowsley Zoo are actually scousers as how would a wild monkey know how to dismantle a car? Makes you think?
