Strategy
The Sandvik Retrofit Journey
• Implement ChaRM Retrofit and dual landscape even when a new
release was ongoing
• Short time slot for retrofit implementation, from decision to go live
• Lack of specialist knowledge and dedicated resources
• New way of working
• Complex SAP environment with a lot of SAP connected systems
12
Challenges
The Sandvik Retrofit Journey
• Developed a five-tier, dual landscape connected to Solution Manager
• Using Task Lists to create, release and move transports between systems
• Retrofit to move transports from Maintenance- to Implementation Landscape
• Major Releases transported to PRD first, then to DEV1 and QAS1

Maintenance Landscape
QAS2DEV2

• Successfully deployments both from Maintenance and
Implementation landscape
• First Release from implementation landscape June 2014
• 1000+ transports
