about I have a little extra passion for the soft values and the social aspects in architecture and planning, and I’m interested in how one can translate that into a design and to physical attributes. I have a good sense of visualise ideas and to give words a picture through graphic skills. I have just finished my masters thesis, where I worked with a design proposal for an urban park in Dar es Salaam, tanzania. the thesis was a good opportunity to combine my interests of the global south, social aspects and design in one project.

I have had some great work experience during the time of my studies. I have been working at botkyrka kommun and Göteborgs stadsbyggnadskontor, where I mostly worked with management and city planning on a lager scale. the semester before my masters thesis I did an internship at sla in copenhagen, there I got a good sense of working with competitions as well as with more detailed drawings. the last two years I have lived and studied in copenhagen and dar es salaam, which is something that has broadened my perspectives on my studies and as well on my role as a landscape architect.

In this portfolio a selection of my work is presented.

Bon appétit!

2014MEETINg, gREETINg & SEATINgMasters thesIsI wrote my masters thesis together with my student college Kajsa and our project was about developing a design suggestion for Magomeni Garden in dar es salaam, tanzania. to motivate and justify the importance of public parks in developing countries we found evidents in a theoretical and cultural background. In the beginning it felt hard to motivate the question of parks in a context of a developing countries, where basic needs still often are left unfulfilled. People live without clean water, adequate infrastructure, and are battling many diseases that are no longer problematic in developed countries. At a first glance, investing in parks may seem trivial, but we found that the benefits generated by urban parks are many and essential for life quality and thriving cities.the design for Magomani Garden is based on interviews we had with people using the park today and together with analysis and with inspiration from dar es salaam.

2013øRESTAD KuNSTKAMMER/SlASTRATEGY & ACTION PLANthe task was to make a green plan and strategy for Ørestad city outside copenhagen. the intention from the stakeholders was to create a caring touch and happiness to the everyday life in the neighbourhood. after analysis of the area we understood that the neighbourhood was built up on only functions and we realized that a natural and more spontaneous operation was necessary. to spread seeds and let the strict lawns grow and be less maintained were two easy ways of a more biodiverse and lively place. another idea was to let the people living in the neighbourhood be a part of the action and let them affect their neighbourhood. this visualisations shows the overall idea but many small actions and ideas were communicated in diagrams to the stakeholders.

2013gulSKOgEN pARK /SlAcompetition together with bIG we made a completion for a head office for Uloba. The new building was to gather the companies functions and in a design with new standards and a sustainable and universal design. In a dense neighbourhood the new office and its different functions could serve the future development of the area and help to create a lively and green area that opens up and connects the surrounding. sla worked with the buildings location, the outer green area and with five courtyards in the building. the courtyards served different themes that was connected to the inside activity of the building. location: Gulskogen, norway

2013KuBE /SlAFInal draWInGs sla got the project in 2010 and for Fredriksberg municipality sla came up with a design for an activity centre in Fredrikberg in copenhagen. I started to work with the project late in the process when the design and almost all details already were set. the project is called KUBE and I helped with making some final cad-drawings and coloured the plans in Illustrator.location: Fredriksberg, denmark

2012KOM uT uR VASSEN! /sbK GÖteborGVISION FOR GULLBERGSVASSduring my summer work at sbK in Göteborg I worked together with two architect students for a vision plan for the central industrial area Gullbergsvass in Göteborg. For ten weeks we came up with five vision headlines for the site. the project started with extensive analysis of the area. We showed the situation of ‘today’ and the potential for ‘tomorrow’, in diagrams and visualizations. We also did an over all plan for the area on a conceptual level. The final work were presented for the SBK office and used as an inspiration an catalysis for their future work with the area.

2012FRAMEWORK/KBh uNIVERSITyTHE BODY IN THE LANDSCAPEthe frames guides your through the landscape. opens up and welcomes with its yellow frames. Amplifies the fields, the light and the sea. It makes you feel the rhythm of the landscape and of your own steps, your pace of life. the bathing place project focused on the aesthetics and the body’s tactile interaction within the experience. Inspired of the yellow rape fields and the surroundings open landscape. the project focused on simplicity; natural material and to be part of the sequence. the time aspect was also a big importance, the rough material of building gets even more interesting when the weather and the time leaves its marks. the frames interact with the perspective, by changing in size and intensity. contrasts raise senses.

2012SAlTKASSEN/KBh uNIVERSITy1:1 FULL SCALEUnder the motto ‘life before the city’ Urban Play is part of Køge Kyst’s strategy for using temporary cultural interventions as a process for developing the harbour area. In the course I took we were supposed to make a full-scale installation tha related to the site and in the same time showed a transformation. the installation was supposed to be built on pallets that were 2.4m x 2.4m. I and a study college got inspired by the salt and how it is essential for us as living beings and that it in the same way can be deadly poisonous. We saw the salt crystals on seaweed and got rapt of how it changed. We decided to play with a normal sandpit but change the sand to salt. We worked with a model to test our idea. We made a black robust cube with a roof of tarp with holes where rainwater could infiltrate and could se how the water transformed the salt to something new. We found all the material local in the area and got help from a teenager activity centre to build our artefact. the piece stud a whole summer at Køge as a part of the exhibition Urban Play.

A NORDIc FABlE/KBh uNIVERSITycourtyard designtogether with student I did a roof-top courtyard design proposal for the nordic council. their wishes with the project were that they wanted something with a personal touch, a place to grow things that they could use in the café and a place that would be visually attractive all year around. Inspired by the nordic landscape with lichen and old sagas and memories our proposal answered their wishes and needs. the design is kept simple and the focus is on the contrasting edging that divides the wild native plants and the culture path. We focused a lot of the plants and wanted to use plants that one could eat from the forest and not cultivated plants that you normally buy in the grocery store. to tell the story behind our choices of the design and the plants we presented the final design as a story, describing how they could use the courtyard with different focuses and for different occasions.

REVAIlINg WAVES/KBh uNIVERSITyterrain designthis project focused on the terrain work and how to work with contaminated soil for a big area that is planned to be a new housing area in the coming 30 years. With a concept from the sea, waves move through the building structure and connect the landscape and housing whilst revealing the history of the site. the terrain is determined by the pattern of the waves. old paint factories located at the site have inspired the colour scheme which is also to be used for creating local identity and as a contemporary element. building of the new apartments (designed by bIG) will be done in several phases. Until an area will be build, the proposal suggest a green space with plants that may help to remove, transfer, stabilize, and/or destroy contaminants in the soil. I used cad civil 3d for help with shadow analysis, earthwork calculation and also for water drainage work.

OSMOSIS/KBh uNIVERSITySUDSballerup municipality wants to take care of the rainwater from the roof in a SUDS (Sustainable Urban Drainage System).the designs idiom is a natural shape, which adapts to the terrain and circular forms are linked with the idea of water drops hitting a surface. the basic design idea of the SUDS is a swale that follows the form of the terrain. In the swale solid corten cylinders are placed where water accumulates. the system ends with a cylinder where the bottom allows water to infiltrate. When the water fills up to a certain level in the cylinder it will overflow to the next one. the architectural design of the cylinders makes the system exciting even when it is dry periods. the design shows different solutions of infiltration, evaporation and accumulation. In this way it can be inspiring and give knowledge to people about storm water management. tolerant plants that thrives moist soil are planted in corten circles.the water in the new terrain runs almost the same way as in the prebuilt. the terrain guides the water trough a swale and takes advantage of the sloping terrain.

BREAK ThE pATTERN/KBh uNIVERSITyMetro -conceptual ideathe overall idea is to get people to take a step out of their stressed lifes and invite them to take a break. a concrete paving with Moroccan-inspired pattern gives the site identity and is symbolic for breaking lifestyle patterns. three glass bubbles creates exciting features on site, and also functions as skylights to bring natural day light to the underground metro station and as a part of the seating furniture. to create a green atmosphere green walls will be constructed in the stair leading down to the metro and also down at the platform. to actualize the green feeling outside, climbers are planted at the facade in the West and at the stairs down to the station. Water features are placed in the big room, as refreshing elements and to give a calming sound that hides traffic noise.

BREAK the PATTERNThe over all idea is to get people to take a step out of their stressed life’s and invite them to take a break. The main design consists of organic forms of plants and trees. A concrete paving with Moroccan-inspired pattern gives the site identity and is symbolic for breaking lifestyle patterns. Three glass bubbles (1) create exciting features on the site. They also functions as skylights to bring natural day light to the underground metro station and as a part of the seating furnitures.Grass and soft ground covers is planted along the winding tree rows. Those who want can take their shoes off and walk along, feeling the texture under their feet. At some places benches (2) are places under the trees, so one can nd a spot in the sun anytime during the day. The trees create rooms varied in size, so that eve-ryone can nd their favourite spot. To actualize the green feeling, climbers (3) are planted at the facade in the West and at the stairs down to the station. Water features (4) is placed in the big room, these will be refreshing elements during hot summer days. And also give a calming sound that hides traf c noise. At the outh-West and North-East sides of the building, bike park-ing (5) will follow along the curved tree rows. A green oasis is created on the South-East side of the building. This is a calm and safe room with a stylized waterfall (6) and lush plantings. Here those who wants a uiet room can sit down and get the feeling of being in another world.Car parks have been removed due to that people can go by Metro.
