December 1, 2015 Dear Applicant, For over forty years, the Wallace Community College Fine Arts Department has impressed Wiregrass area patrons with professional quality productions. The College takes pride in the professionalism it brings to every aspect of each show. This year, the Wallace Fine Arts Department will close its 44th season with the first childrens production, Charlottes Web by E.B. White, dramatized by Joseph Robinette. This production on April 7-9, 2016 promises to attract one of our largest audiences. We will also be performing school matinees on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 5-6, 2016. Enclosed you will find detailed information concerning auditions. Auditions are scheduled for Tuesday, December 8 at 2:00 p.m. in Bencze Theatre. Please bring your script copy, the COMPLETED application form and professional attitude! The audition process will take approximately two minutes for each applicant. The process is listed as follows: Submit application form (is attached in packet) typed or blue/black ink Perform the designated pages listed in this packet for your most desired role The director may require readings for additional characters, if desired. Please take note that if you receive a part in the show, you will be required to take a Theatre Workshop Course and Speech/Voice for the Performer. Both of these courses will serve as our rehearsal time on Tuesdays, Thursdays and five scheduled Fridays. Please do not register for these courses until the cast list is posted. Show Information

The extraordinary spider Charlotte proves to be “a true friend and a good writer.” Determined to save the life of the pig Wilbur, she performs a miracle, spinning her web to read, “Some pig.” It’s the

beginning of a victorious campaign. This is a beautiful, knowing play about friendship.

Joseph Robinette is a Tony Award nominee and Drama Desk Award nominee for the libretto of the acclaimed A Christmas Story, The Musical. He is the author or co-author of 55 published plays and

musicals. His works have been produced at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, The Theater at Madison Square Garden and Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City, the 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle, the Goodman Theatre in Chicago, the BBC in Britain, in all 50 states and in 21 foreign countries. Twelve

of his works have been translated into foreign languages, and another five have been anthologized. Robinette collaborated with E.B. White on the authorized stage version of Charlotte's Web, and he wrote the musical version with Charles Strouse (Annie and Bye, Bye, Birdie). Other dramatizations include The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Anne of Green Gables and Debbie Macomber's A Gift to Last and The Inn at Rose Harbor. He is the recipient of the American Alliance for Theatre and Education's Distinguished Play Award for Sarah, Plain and Tall and the Children's Theatre Foundation of America medallion for his

"body of dramatic works for family audiences in the United States and beyond.
