Born Here.It was in the heart of the wooded Blue Ridge Mountains, that the sheer rock-face devoid of greenery gave Bald Mountain its name. But in 1874 the mountain shook and grumbled and groaned with a series of earthquakes, so folks started calling it Rumbling Bald Mountain. Today, the ancient mountain stands watch over the north end of Lake Lure, and gives shelter to the Resort that thrives at its feet and shares its name. From a solitary boat house in 1956 to the sprawling resort community of today, Rumbling Bald Resort attracts guests from around the world to enjoy the lake, the spa, the golfing, and the sheer beauty of this incredible place. WELLNESS CENTER, HIKING/FITNESS TRAILS, & SPORTS COURTSThe Wellness Center is the “Hub” for Resort amenities and activities. Here is where guests will find the Spa & Salon, Fitness Room, Indoor Pool, and a Business Center. The Wellness Center is a great place for families to get Resort and area information and offers a selection of Resort merchandise, snacks, gift items and DVD rentals. All Kid’s Adventure Camp programs meet at the Wellness Center. Wellness Center is open from 7:30am - 8:00pm (1/1 - 5/24), 7:30am - 9:30pm (5/25 - 9/3), and 7:30am - 8:00pm (9/4 - 12/31). The indoor pool facilities close 30 mins. prior to the Wellness Center. Children under 16 are not permitted to use the fitness center.

Fitness Classes - The Resort offers a variety of fitness classes for members and guests each week. Fitness classes are free for members and $5 per guest. Reconnect with trees and sky and water and stone. Discover the incredible hiking and biking trails in and around Rumbling Bald Resort. The Buffalo Creek Park Trail System offers five miles of hiking and mountain bike trails. Access is easy through the Rumbling Bald Resort Trailhead at the north end of West Lake Drive. Grab a box lunch from Legends on the Lake and picnic at the tables by the trailhead. Your adventure is waiting.Fitness Trail - Enjoy the outdoors and a great workout on a .9 mile loop fitness trail that consists of 5 workout stations. The Fitness Trail starts near the front of the Wellness Center.Basketball, Tennis & Pickleball Courts - Guests can enjoy our outdoor lighted sports courts daily. We offer 4 hard surface tennis courts (2 specially marked for Pickleball) and

a basketball court. Guests can participate in a tennis round robin Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and/or Pickleball round robin on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. A racquet and a new can of balls are required for both. SWIMMINGNorth Shore Beach - Rumbling Bald Resort’s private sandy beach is the perfect spot to enjoy the sun, or to take a dip in the Lake. Bring your own beach gear or rent some at the beach cabana, and enjoy the mountains, the water, the sun, and even the stars. Open 7am – 10pm daily. No glass, pets, or personal bonfires are permitted at the beach.

Trout Stream Pool, Lazy River & Pool Side Snack Bar - This family swimming pool complex features 2 outdoor pools, a sand volleyball court, restrooms, changing rooms and a snack bar. Enjoy covered seating with fans or stretch out in a lounge chair and soak up the rays. Trout Stream Pool opens for the weekend from 9:00am - 7:00pm (5/19 & 5/20), and is open daily for the season from 9:00am - 9:00pm (5/26 - 9/3), and 9:00am - 7:00pm (9/8 - 9/9). Inner tubes are for sale at concession stand and are required for The Lazy River. You are welcome to bring your own inner tube. Small coolers are allowed. Please no outside alcohol or glassware. Adult only swim 9:00am - 10:00am.Indoor Pool, Whirlpool, Steam Room & Sauna - The indoor pool at the Wellness Center is open daily, adult only swim from 7:30am - 10:00am.* Adult supervision is required at the indoor pool. Apple Valley Pool - Located off Winesap Blvd. near the Apple Valley Golf Course, Apple Valley Pool is open daily 9:00am - 8:00pm (5/1 - 9/3), and 9:00am - 7:00pm (9/4 - 9/30). This outdoor pool tends to be quieter and more adult friendly.Guest passes are required.

FAMILY POOL PARTY A great way for the whole family to enjoy the evening with music, games, & prizes. Every Thursday at Trout Stream Pool starting at 6:30pm (6/14 - 8/9).

NORTH SHORE BEACH CABANA

Directly on Lake Lure, just below Legends on the Lake Restaurant, the North Shore Beach Cabana is Rumbling Bald Resort’s lake headquarters. This is where you can rent pontoon boats, pedal boats, kayaks, canoes, SUPboards and register for lake tours. The Cabana is stocked with snacks and all your beach needs. Guests can call the Cabana directly at 828.694.3019. The North Shore Beach Cabana will be closed 1/1/18 - 4/5/18 and again 11/1/18 - 12/31/18. During the Cabana‘s off-season, a limited schedule of cruises may be booked by calling the Wellness Center at 828.694.3005.

Resort Boat Rentals - You have plenty of options to get out and enjoy the water at Rumbling Bald Resort. Guests may rent a pontoon boat, kayak, SUPboard or pedal boat on Lake Lure or enjoy a canoe on our private lake, Bald Mountain Lake. Call or visit the North Shore Beach Cabana at 828.694.3019 for boat rental information and availability.

Pontoon Boat Rentals - Take the family. Take your friends. Take your time. Our pontoon boats allow you to explore Lake Lure on your own. Find an adventure, or drift in a quiet cove. Come on out. The water’s fine. Each boat holds up to 10 passengers. All pontoon boat rentals include, life jackets, safety instruction, and lake map. Pontoon Rental Rates: $80 an hour (2 hrs $160 • 3 hrs $240 • 4 hrs $320). Plus $5 for fuel. No swimming or pulling inner tubes behind boats.

Canoe and Kayak Rentals - A canoe or kayak rental from the North Shore Beach Cabana will satisfy your sense of adventure and get you up close and personal with our beautiful lake. Kayaks are available for rent by the hour, seven days a week. All safety gear is included. Easy to use, safe and stable recreational one/two person kayak rental includes paddle & life jacket. Single Kayak Rental Rates: $20 and hour. Double Kayak Rental Rates (with 3rd seat for small child): 1 hr $25 • each additional hour $20.

Stand Up Paddle Boards Rentals - Stand up paddle boards or SUPboards are serious fun. Part surf board and part kayak, this easy to learn activity is a lake adventure your family will love. SUPboard Rates: $20 an hour.

Pedal Boat Rentals - 2 Person Pedal Boat $20 an hour. 4 Person Pedal Boat $25 an hour. Note: Kayaks, SUPboards, and Pedal Boats must stay within the no wake zones around the lake.

North Shore Beach Cabana Ice Cream Shop When you are ready for a treat, stop in at the North Shore Beach Cabana for a hand scooped ice cream cone. We have a variety of flavors available in a waffle cone or a cup. The Cabana also serves cold drinks and beer.

This 3-hour cruise launches from the Cabana at 10:30am on Wednesdays and Fridays and includes a stop for lunch. Space is limited and reservations are encouraged. Lunch not included in price. Departure Schedule: 10:30am - 1:30pm Mon, Wed, & Fri (4/6 - 10/31). Lunchtime Cruise Prices: Adults $24 • Seniors (60+) & Military $23 • Children (4-12) $21 • Under 4 $7.*All guests must arrive a minimum of 15 minutes prior to scheduled cruise departure time. Boating & Fishing InformationResort guests are welcome to bring boats to enjoy lake activities and recreation on Lake Lure. Rumbling Bald Resort offers convenient access to the lake with a boat launch, plus we provide a secure dry storage area for your boat and trailer when not in use. Some Resort accommodations include private dock spaces, please discuss your options with a reservations agent. Guests must obtain the proper boating permits directly from the Town of Lake Lure. The Town issues short term and non-resident boating permits for both motorized and non-motorized watercraft. Information on boating permits is available by calling 828.625.9983 or by visiting the Town of Lake Lure’s website at townoflakelure.com. Personal watercraft such as Jet-Ski’s are not permitted on Lake Lure.

Many guests enjoy fishing on Lake Lure or in nearby rivers and streams. Our area is known for Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, Large Mouth Bass, Small Mouth Bass, Crappie, White Bass, Catfish, Bluegill and Sun-Perch. North Carolina State licenses are required to fish in Lake Lure and Trout stamps are required for local creek and river fishing. Please visit ncwildlife.org for information on fishing licenses.

Bald Mountain - Designed in 1968, by W.B. Lewis, the Bald Mountain course has stood the test of time. Playing under the shadow of Bald Mountain itself,

you can enjoy our beautiful views and first class conditions. This golf course has a unique layout with five par 5’s and five Par 3’s leaving you more opportunities for the elusive birdie or eagle. The golf course is very inviting with opportunities on many holes to run the ball up to the green. But do not let the yardage fool you, with tight fairways and small greens, the low handicap golfer will have a challenge as well.

Be A Kid Here.KID’S ADVENTURE CAMPNo screens. No game controllers. Just kids in the mountains and on the lake. Designed for kids from 6 to 18 years old, Rumbling Bald Resort’s Kids Adventure Camp focuses on outdoor fun and safety with a caring, experienced staff of camp counselors. It’s the perfect way for kids to enjoy “everything fun” in the mountains.

2018 Schedule & Prices: Programs offered 6/11 - 8/10. Daily camps run Mon - Fri from 9:30am - 4:30pm and includes lunch. Advanced reservations are strongly encouraged as space is limited. • Monday Camp (6-18 years old) - $69 per child. A day of Ziplining.
