Charlie Baxter First of all, Charlie is an old geezer, and as with many true legends, we know very little about his past. For us, the story begins in the early 1900’s. The first

ever mention of Charlie Baxter is a postcard from the Pegu Club in Burma, dated May 20th, 1910. It was addressed to his wife in England, but got lost

somehow and eventually ended up in a post card museum in Harlem, where we found it after a lot of research. One of our companions met Charlie in Indonesia about a decade after that postcard was sent. After sleeping in

back alleys, falling in and out of bars together and whatever trouble they got up to, our travelling companion somehow convinced Charlie that the grass was greener in Copenhagen. One day he fell down the stairs to our little bar, dehydrated, hungry and scruffed up. We helped him to a big bowl of Tequila

and to this day, he is still with us. Slightly tipsy, he fights off demons and bad spirits for your convenience, all day, every day. Salud!

LageritaIt’s a way for us to explain what The Barking Dog is about. A hybrid between a pint in a pub and a well made Margarita in a fine cocktail bar. It’s tequila and

beer. Simple, relaxed, dog and somewhat sophisticated.

Rum'N'Ting

One of the first drinks ever made at the Dog, and like good dogs do, they stay with us! Jaaaahmaica rum! LIIIME! GRAPEFRUUUIIT!

Europino

Hank Mobley put’s his lips on the sax, it is Bologna jazz festival. I take off my helmet and light a cigarette. There is something in the air tonight. I order a

red drink, the essence of Italy, while I stay seated on my brand spanking new Malaguti.

Bonita

Hey Bonita, glad to meet ya.For the kind of vodka soda, I must beseech ya.

Hey, being with you is a top priority.Ain’t no need to question the authority.

Chairman of the board, the chief of affection. You got mine’s to swing in your direction.Hey, you’re like a hip hop song, you know?

Bonita Applebum, you gotta put me on!

Svenskeren

To save you the trouble of going to Sweden, we put all the flavours in a glass for you. Lingonberries instead of meatballs. Vodka to be able to think clear, and bone

dry tonic as a representative for Swedish humour.

Margarita Highball

The problem with Margaritas is that they are too damn tasty and go down too

quick! So we made it just as tasty and a bit longer, with just a tad less alcohol so we can drink more and stay happy for longer!

Highballs

Pre-DrinnerAs the name indicates, these are cocktails to be had before dinner. They serve

the purpose of cleansing the palate, and contain enough alcohol to put even the hungriest man in a good mood before eating.

Margarita

As well as being the most beautiful name in the world, it also has a cocktail to back it up! A classic that never fails to improve someone’s mood. Half goddess,

half sunshine in a glass.

Aviation

An American bartender in 1916 thought he could make a cocktail that would make his guest fly. Literally. We do not have to tell you that gin, lemon and

cherry liqueur did not make that happen. But it made a hell of a drink!

Daiquiri

Legend has it that a group of miners in Cuba was plotting a heist against the doggerment which led to the Cuban Independence in 1902. Late night on

February the 15th Mario Lopez pulls out a bottle of aguardiente and mixes it with five stolen limes and a spoonful of sugar. “The cause of the explosion has not

been clearly established to this day” -Just saying

Titanic Negroni

Gins, vermouths and Campari matured in a uncontrolled, half-glass half-wood environment, with a taste so big it has to be served on an ice rock!

Martinez de Natur

Somewhere in Piemonte, northern Italy, is nature. Good wine comes from nature. Good drinks come from bars. We mixed the two with juniper booze and

something bitter. It is basically what the doctor ordered you to drink.

pre-dinner

MezcalAgave is the leader, the goddess, the light to guide us on our path through life.

She has arrived at a time when people as a mass need guidance and simple answers. She is here to teach us how to feel for each other, again.

Choosing agave, is choosing life!

90 ,-

Bienvenidos

Probably the best welcome one could have in a bar. Imagine a big warm hug from the friendliest face you can imagine, with limes for eyes, carrying two pots of

smoking hot coffee. With Mezcal on top!

Feels Like Berlin

Super-dangerous-Mexican Mezcal gives this drink a smokey character balanced by quinine and the Bitter Oranges from Campari with fresh Lime juice for you to stay awake. Imagine a foxy Mexican lady with a smoking shotgun and a truck-

load of stolen agave. ARRRRIBA!

Pistolero

Gunslingers during the Mexican Revolution used to meet at The Barking Dog to forget the war, knock back a few pistoleros and have a laugh. It is made up from

ingredients of fallen enemies. Mezcal, gun smoke and monks elixir with lime and a touch of apple blossom.

El Commandante

A flavour explosion full of campfire, blood from virgins and the blessing of Mayahuel. A pretty full-on take on the lightly smoky Rob Roy cocktail, which is a

flavourful take on the Manhattan.

mezcal

Mexican 8-ball When in Mexico, every now and again we find ourselves in questionable

situations. You know the ones that are half fun, half life-threatening. This drink is a bit like that – a tequila, mezcal and absinthe kind of situation. It has ruined

a couple of relationships, made a couple of babies... needless to say it is the beginning of a great night!

CocktailsOur way of thinking of cocktails are simple well balanced ingredients with a classic feel. The fewer ingredients the better. Keep it quality, keep it simple.

Cocktails

Bonbonnet

Take my Pineau away no one ever said at the Chateau. Balanced with Old Tom and lifted to the skies with liquorice. Nano infused with lemon zest.

Rye or DieFeeling bitter? No problem. This drink contains more bitterness than a grumpy old man. But that by itself would not taste good, so we added a fruity American

whiskey and lemons. It is the whiskey sour you never knew you wanted.

Gin & It

Sometimes the simplest things give us the greatest pleasure. Over- proof gin and a bold vermouth matured together in a glass balloon.

Almost Famous

As the name clearly indicates, this is a drink for the almost/kind of drinkers. Think of a bramble in brand new shiny clothes. Fluffy pink flowers and rosé Cava.

Mistress

Hemingway had his way with plenty of ladies, this is dedicated to all of them. Instead of Rum’ing this “Hemingway Daiquiri”, we serve it long with Vodka.

Tree Hugger

Traditionally drunk only by kings and queens in castles around Andalusia, but luckily now available (due to some connections) in Nørrebro! Cups full of Sherry,

fruits, flamenco-dancers and a lot of No-Entiendo’s!

Batanga #2

Imagine yourself walking down a dusty road in the old town of Tequila. You step in to that one very special bar you always go to when you visit and order a

Batanga. Only that we can’t get hold of Mexican cola, so we made our own out of amaro, lemon and a hint of sugar.

Brown Sugar

Waking up butt-naked in the jungle somewhere in Trinidad is something we all know too well. Teleport to Shibuya crossing and sprinkle some chocolate on top.

This old fashioned is pretty full-on.

Diablo

With a powerful name comes great responsibility – but the sneaky Mexican Devil never cared much for that. Do not be fooled by this light, refreshing, super

sexy redhead. She has a great punch! * All drinks on this menu may contain eggs, nuts, dairy and everything else you

could possibly be allergic to. Please let us know if you have any allergies.
