January 24 For immediate release For more information, please contact Doug Drotman (631) 462-1198 ([email protected]) WARRINGTON, Penn. — Anthony Giovanni turned one lucky pack of NFL cards into one fantastic grand prize: a day with Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Reggie Brown. Giovanni, 10, is just one of more than 200,000 NFL card collectors which participated in the 2007 NFL Player of the Day contest at more than 700 hobby shops nationwide. He is also one of thousands that earned prizes. On February 16, Brown will attend a private party at the Giovannis’ home in Warrington. After the party, Brown, Giovanni and Giovanni’s friends will take a limousine to Giovanni’s favorite hobby shop, BJ’s Sports Cards at 14 South York Rd. in Hatboro, Penn. There, Giovanni will share his good fortune with the rest of the community, as Brown will spend 90 minutes signing free autographs and posing for photos. Two hundred fans will collect a free autograph from Brown. Fifty lucky collectors can reserve a spot at the front of the line by visiting BJ’s Sports Cards before February 16 and pulling a Brown card from a pack of NFL licensed trading cards. All other autographs will be awarded on a first- come, first-served basis (visit BJ’s Sports Cards or call 215-675-8746 for specific details). “I am thrilled for Anthony and his brother Vincent and the entire Giovanni family,” said Brian Schneck owner of BJ’s Sports Cards. “They are all regular customers at my shop and a big football card collectors and Eagles fans. I’m glad to be a part of their special day.” If a private party, limousine ride and autograph session isn’t quite enough for Giovanni, he will also receive a $250 shopping spree to spend on NFL-licensed products at BJ’s Sports Cards. Giovanni’s journey to the big day began when he uncovered the designated NFL Player of the Day from a pack of cards he purchased at the hobby shop. From there, Giovanni joined other store winners in a drawing for weekly prizes. Each store then selected a grand-prize winner for a spot in a national sweepstakes. Giovanni proved to be the luckiest of more than 600 grand-prize winners. The 2007 NFL Player of the Day promotion included more than 700 hobby shops across the country. Players, Inc. and NFL Properties, LLC, along with trading card licensees Donruss/Playoff, Topps and Upper Deck coordinated the event. This marks the eighth consecutive year that the NFL Player of the Day program has given an NFL card collector the chance to spend the day with an NFL player. Past players have included: Maurice Jones-Drew, Chris Simms, Rudi Johnson, Donald Driver, Ed McCaffrey, Chad Pennington and Frank Wycheck. ###
