Doris Oldfield Doris Hill Oldfield passed this life on Oct. 29, 2014, at the age of 79 years after an extended ill- ness. She was born Sept. 16, 1935, to Charlie and Maude Williams Hill of Relief, Ky. Area Deaths Reva Collins Trout Reva Collins Trout, age 84, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014, at the Suites of Walnut Creek. She was born March 9, 1930, in Mariba, KY, daughter of the late Sterling and Gretchen (Trimble) Collins. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Larry Trout in 2008; two children, Anita Jo and Michael Robin- son; and her children’s father, John Robinson Jr. Reva is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Rob- ert and Lois Collins, of Miam- isburg; sister-in-law, Stella Col- members and friends. Doris was a loving and de- voted wife, mother, grandmoth- er, friend and neighbor. She was a partner with her husband in J.A.Oldfield and Son, Inc. for over 50 years. She was also active in her community and was a mem- ber of Old Grassy Christian Church. Doris was an avid tennis player for many years and was an inspiration to everyone who knew her. Funeral were conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, at the Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Price and Rev. Carl Roller officiating. Robert “Bob” Lee Havens Robert "Bob" Lee Havens, age 78, of Day- ton, Ohio, passed away Saturday at Hospice of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio. He was born Aug. 28, 1936, at Malone, Ky., in Morgan County, Ky., a son of the late Daniel Boone Havens and Bes- sie Stapleton Havens. Bob was a veteran in the United States Army and proud- ly served his country in the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Havens; and Plina Blanton Plina Blanton,78, of Shop Branch Road, West Liberty, Ky., passed away Friday, Oct. 31, in Hazard ARH hospital, Hazard, Ky., after a brief illness. She was born Oct. 22, 1936, at Lost Creek, Ky., a daughter of the late Eddie and Mary Ann Legg Jenkins. Plina was a member of the Pigeon Enterprise Bap- tist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great- grandmother, and enjoyed her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garvin; and son, Vertis; four sisters, Mis- souri LeMaster, Marvie Pot- ter, Fannie Jenkins and Elsie Anderson; and four brothers, Harold Jenkins, Carson Jenkins, Sam Jenkins and Ben Patrick. Edith Marie Leach Edith Ma- rie Leach of Ezel, KY, passed away Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014, at Windsor Care Center, Mt. Sterling, KY, at the age of 96 years and 15 days. She was born on Thursday, Oct. 17, 1918, at Kellacy, KY, daughter of the late Walker Lee and Nannie Frances Hasty Mann. Edith was united in marriage to Estill Leach. This union was blessed with three children, Delbert Darrel, Harrol Eugene and Joyce Caroldene. She was a homemaker who devoted her life to care for her family and her home, and also worked as a seamstress at the former Jockey Factory in Mt. Sterling. Edith was a converted and baptized early in life and lived a Christian life. She attended the Ezel First Church of God and Pine Grove Community Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmoth- er and great-great grandmother who will be sadly missed by all. In addition to her parents, Fairy Dean Lykins Fairy Dean Lykins of West Lib- erty, KY, passed away Friday, Oct. 31, 2014, at her resi - dence, at the age of 83 years, 9 months and 4 days. She was born Jan. 27, 1931, at Magoffin County, KY, daugh- ter of the late Lloyd and Carmie Hall Bailey. Fairy Dean was united in marriage to Courtney Paul Lykins. This union was blessed with eight children, Paul Eu- gene, Dlatha Kay, Tebby, Terry, Jerry, Vlanda, Jeff and Winston. She was a homemaker who devoted her life to care for her family and her home. She was a Christian and a member of the Lick Fork Pentecostal Church. Fairy Dean was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister and will be sadly missed by all. She was born June 6, 1939, at Lenox, KY, daughter Bertha Keeton Gillespie and the late James Ezra Caskey. Wanda was united in mar- riage to Frank Helton. This union was blessed with three children, Marilyn, Vickie and James Eric. She worked for the forestry service and was a homemaker, and a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmoth- er and sister. Wanda loved working in her flower beds, in her garden, and enjoyed researching genealogy. She was a member Elkfork Order of Eastern Star #561. Billy G. RoseBilly G. Rose was born Sep-

tember 21, 1931 on GreenbriarCreek, near Lee City of WolfeCounty, Kentucky. He was the theson and seventh child of Grant B.Rose and Nellie Day Taylor Rose.

He attended Amyx PublicSchool, of Wolfe County, andgraduated from Hazel GreenAcademy in 1949. He attendedthe University of Kentucky andgraduated June 5, 1953 with aBachelor of Science in Agricul-ture degree.

Billy was in the Company D37th Armored Infantry BattalionDivision Military 3rd ArmoredDivision as Military Police of theUnited States Army during theKorean War Era and was sta-tioned in Berlin, Germany.

Billy served as office managerfor the United States Departmentof Agriculture in Wolfe Countyfor 9 months. He was appointedSeptember 30, 1957 acting Post-master of Hazel Green for 2 1/2years, and from January 1, 1967to October 1, 1982, a total of 15years, was the first mail carrier onRural Route 1 out of Hazel Green.

He was appointed October 2,1982 Postmaster of Hazel Greenand Booneville, Kenturcky,where he retired October 2, 1992,with 37 years of service in thepostal service. He also owned andoperated Rose’s Market, in HazelGreen, for eight years beginningin 1960.

Billy was a father of three,farmer, friend to all and a dedi-cated public servant. He enjoyedsquirrel hunting, bird hunting,folk and square dancing.

He was a member of theMizpah Lodge #507 F. & A.M.where he served as Master Ma-son for 56 years and held officesas Master and Secretary as wellas other offices for many of thoseyears.

Billy is survived by two sonsand one daughter: Billy ScottRose and wife, Cindy NelsonRose, of Mt. Sterling; RonaldDale Rose, of Bowling Green,and Verinda La’Fran Rose, ofHazel Green; five grandchildren:Eric Nelson Rose, of Lexington,Elizabeth Renee Webster and hus-band, Adam Webster, of Auburn,Maria Katheleen Rose, of Peoria,AZ, Evan Scott Rose, of Lexing-ton, and Koncrieta KatheleenRose, of Hazel Green; one sisterand one brother, Garnet MableRose Meinders, of Cincinnati,

Ohio, and Robert Clinton Rose,of Hazel Green; 7 nephews, 13nieces, 6 first cousins, and a hostof family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Billywas preceded in death by twobrothers, Kenneth Rose, who diedas an infant, and Henry ClayRose, whose widow, Opal Chris-tian Rose, survives; three sisters,Barsha Irene Rose Howard, MaryLee Rose Lacy, and Ruby GayRose Miller; his firs t wife,Verniece Wilson Rose; and hissecond wife, Rosemary JohnsonRose.

Billy was a member of theBooneville Methodist Church formany years and attended RedRiver Community Church aftermoving back from Arkansas fol-lowing the death of his secondwife. He attended church as longas his health permitted and was adevoted Christian who read hisBible daily.

Billy G. Rose passed awayThursday, Feb. 16, 2012 at Mor-gan County Appalachian Re-gional Hospital, in West Liberty,after a long illness.

Funeral services were con-ducted Sunday, Feb. 19, at Porterand Son Funeral DirectorsChapel, with Rev. Jamie Vrunkand Rev. Charles Glover officiat-ing. Interment was at the HazelGreen Cemetery, Hazel Green,with Porter and Son Funeral Di-rectors, of Campton, in charge ofarrangements.

He was raised in the HickoryGrove area of Morgan County,attended Wrigley ElementarySchool, and graduated MorganCounty High School in 1972.Kenneth was a retired/disabledstrip mine worker. He got savedon April 25, 2010, and was bap-tized on May 2, 2010, at the In-dex Community Church. He wasa beloved son, cherished brotherto his seven siblings, and anadored uncle to his many niecesand nephews.

Kenny loved watching NCIS,University of Kentucky basket-ball, and WLJC-TV, Beattyville.He loved listening to Bob Dylan,classic rock, and old-timey gos-pel music. He loved animals, hav-ing owned numerous pets duringhis life. He enjoyed spending timewith his family and friends.Kenny was one in a million andwas the coolest uncle in the uni-verse. He will be deeply and sadlymissed forever.

She was born March 9, 1930, in Mariba, KY, daughter of the late Sterling and Gretchen (Trimble) Collins.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Larry Trout in 2008; two children, Anita Jo and Michael Robin-son; and her children’s father, John Robinson Jr.

Doris was an avid tennis player for many years and was an inspiration to everyone who knew her.

She was a homemaker who devoted her life to care for her family and her home, and also worked as a seamstress at the former Jockey Factory in Mt. Sterling.

Edith was a converted and baptized early in life and lived a Christian life. She attended the Ezel First Church of God and Pine Grove Community Church.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmoth-er and great-great grandmother who will be sadly missed by all.
