Introduction

Welcome to the first Stoke Mandeville Hospital Radio Golf Day and Dinner!

Stoke Mandeville Hospital Radio (SMHR) would like to take this opportunity to thank

everyone who has sponsored, donated and participated in this day as without you it wouldn’t

have been possible and anywhere near the success it is.

The Charity

Stoke Mandeville Hospital Radio was formed in 1978. The membership and committee are

made up of unpaid volunteers who provide bedside entertainment to the patients, visitors,

medical staff and other employees on the Stoke Mandeville Hospital site. We are currently

raising funds to help us move to our new premises and to update aging equipment. We plan

to do most of the general work ourselves but there are some jobs where we will have to buy

skills in. For more information visit: www.smhr.co.uk

The Main Sponsor and Host

The Barclays Bank team will be doubling the first £3000 raised on this golf day which includes

over 40% of the entry fee. Just by entering you are helping to raise a significant proportion

of the money we are aiming to raise on today. We would like to thank Mike Locke and his

Barclays team for all their hard work and support in making this day so successful.

The Secondary Sponsor

Local printers, Driftgate Press have helped significantly by making sure all our literature has

been professionally printed free of charge. Special thanks go to Keith Maylin, the Chairman

of Driftgate Press, who is also playing today.

The Prize Sponsors

A massive thank you must go to ESRI, who have generously sponsored the first team prizes

and also entered 10 players today.

Second team prizes have been generously sponsored by ASM Metal Recycling - thank you to

our local recycling team who are planning on entering a team next year too!

Third team prizes have been paid for personally by the Barclays team - so thank you to Mike,

Greig, Gerry and Paul.
