man roster competed in open competi-
tions throughout the year. The Chargers
wrestled over 400 matches, very valuable
mat time for the freshmen and sopho-
mores as they continue to improve.
Pictured above Coach Privitere and Jake
Baker at the yearly team banquet. This
year the team went rock climbing at Long
Lines Family Rec Center.
The Briar Cliff Wres-
tling team had a year of growth
and development as the roster of
all but 2 upper classmen gained
both dual meet and tournament
experience. While Freshmen
Kyle Robison and Skylar Robision
collected All-GPAC honors the
team collected dual meet wins
over Regina, Northwestern, and
Concordia.
Skylar Weber also won
the team MVP award leading the
team in wins and win percentage
on his way to an appearance at
the NAIA national tournament in
Des Moines.
Luis Flores a sopho-
more won the teams Charger
award for his outstanding leader-
ship on and off the mat. Flores, a
national qualifier a year ago has
made gains in the classroom as
well and takes pride in living the
wrestling lifestyle as an example
for his teammates.
Dan Harvey a 184
pound sophomore won the
teams Most Improved award.
After a less than favorable fresh-
men campaign Dan was competi-
tive in his weight class, picking
key wins in dual meets through-
out the 2012-2013 season.
Kyle Robison also rep-
resented Briar Cliff University at
the NAIA national tournament.
Kyle went 1-2 suffering a loss to
the eventual champion. Kyle had
an exceptional freshmen cam-
paign and shows a lot of promise
as he continues to develop.
Outside of dual meets
and national competition the 30+
Head Coach Joe Privitere was
the man in charge of the Campus
Clean Up Event on Tuesday April
16th. Students, faculty, and
administrators alike. Athletic
teams including the BCU Wres-
tling chipped in with other
groups like Knights of Columbus,
and academic departments to
clean different areas around cam-
pus. It was an opportunity for
everyone to take pride in part of
something that everyone shares.
The turnout from campus was
great and the event will continue
to be held as long as there is
such a high interest in the activi-
ty.

After the 2012-2013 campaign end-
ed the team was allowed a break to
recuperate, set goals, and focus on
improvement moving forward.
Moving through the spring and into
the summer the team has been
lifting three days a
week. The lifting
program specifically
designed for wrestlers
by strength and condi-
tioning coach Brian
Fink focuses on the
wrestlers gaining
strength in sport spe-
cific lifts. As school lets out for
summer some of the team has
elected to stay in Sioux City to
continue their training. While oth-
ers will head back to their homes
from across the country for the
summer they will be sent with a
summer lifting and running program
to keep the wrestlers in shape,
build on the gains being made
through the spring, and help the
athletes achieve their goals.
