Joseph Buquet was the head scene shiufter of the Paris Opera house. however, he liked to

talk about The Phantom, whom he had seen. At the begining of the book, he is found

hanging in one of the cellars. They assume he commited suicide.

He has, but not alone. Near the end of the book it is made known that he stumbled into

Erik's ingenious torture chamber, the entrance to which his body was hanging by. In his

desperation to escape, he hung himself. To dispose of the body, Erik hung it outside of his

lair. On greater thought, he went to retreive the unique rope, which was made of catgut and

known as the Punjab Lasso, which could have started a magistrate thinkinhg.

Buquet is a perfect example in this book of someone being killed because he knew too

much, or because he couldn't keep his nose where it belonged.

Joseph Buquet

Joseph is a stagehand who has seen the phantom in the opera house’s third basement.

He is found hanged in the cellar, but when people go to retrieve his body, the rope is

missing. Later in the book, the Persian guesses that the phantom killed Buquet with a

device called the Punjab lasso.

Carlotta

Carlotta is the opera’s female lead, for whom Christine Daaé is an understudy. Carlotta

is a technically accomplished singer but does not sing with soul. The phantom threatens

her if she goes onstage as Marguerite in Faust, but she refuses to be intimidated; as a

result, the sound of a croaking frog comes out when she sings.

Christine Daaé

Christine in Sweden was raised by her father, a traveling violinist. As he was dying, he

explained to her that he would remain with her and guide her through the Spirit of Music.

As a young singer with the Paris Opera, Christine heard Erik speaking to her from

behind a wall; she asked if he were the spirit that her father had told her about, and for a

while he said that he was. He taught her to sing well, so that, given her first chance for

public attention, she sings so beautifully that much of Parisian society takes notice of

her. That night, though, she runs into Raoul de Chagny, whom she met and fell in love

with as a child; her love for Raoul makes Erik jealous, who does what he can to make

her his. He promises her the freedom to leave him but then, unable...

http://poto.wikia.com/wiki/Meg_Giry

Meg Giry is the best friend of Christine Daae (2004 edition) and generally one of the minor characters in all the versions of The Phantom of the Opera. She makes several appearances, but the most important would be The Phantom and Christine Daae.

Madame Giry is compelled to work for the Phantom because he left her a letter that told her

that Meg would become Empress. Early in the novel, it is explained in the Prologue that Meg

Giry, after the story's events, had became the Baroness de Barbazac.

“Never you mind how I know I just do that’s all. We know a lot about the Opera Ghost, Ma

and I, but it isn’t safe to talk about it here. And you’d better believe me for your own good- he

doesn’t like people who don’t know how to show a proper respect, and when he’s angry

terrible things happen.” “What sort of things?” I heard real alarm enter the other voice now.

“Awful things!” said Meg cheerfully, “truly awful. The floor in our dressing room starts to run

with blood...” Up in box five I blinked in surprised amusement. That was a new one! Little

Giry should be writing Gothic novels, not prancing around the stage dressed as a water

nymph!

In the movie/play she is portrayed as having blonde hair and a healthy golden complexion.

Meg was portrayed by Janet Devenish in Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical, and by Jennifer

Ellison in the 2004 movie The Phantom of the Opera.

In the musical, Meg is the one who suggests to the theatre managers to put Christine in the

leading role of the opera Hannibal once leading lady Carlotta Giudicelli is spooked by the

Phantom's threats. Normally she and Christine would be part of the ballet ensemble led by

Madame Giry. At the end of Christine's performance, Christine confides in Meg in the

musical number "Angel of Music" that she has been coached by a mysterious tutor who is

calling her to him. Meg dismisses her claims, but after Christine's disappearance, comes to

believe in the Phantom's powers, in part due to her mother's experiences with the Phantom

as a young man.

At the end of the musical, Meg finds the Phantom's mask that he had used to cover his

disfigured face resting on his chair in his abandoned underground lair.
