Chapter/Affinity Group: IEEE UK & Ireland RAS Chapter Reported by: Dr Hongmei He 28 Jun 2019, Prestige Lecture on “Surgical robotic interfaces –teleoperation and augmented reality”, presented by Prof Sanja Dogramadzi, and hosted by Dr Heldge Wurdemann in UCL. The 4 th Annual IEEE UK & Ireland RAS Conference, the University of Manchester, 21 Jan 2019, four themes: RAS for Extreme Environments, RAS for Manufacturing, RAS for Social-Health care, AI and Internet of Robotic Things, A poster competition session, Two Keynote Speeches: Prof Guang- Zhong Yang (Precision Robotics), Prof. Darwin Caldwell (Italian Institute of Technology), and 22 speakers on the four themes. Supporting the EPSRC Trustworthy Autonomous System Hub bid, organized the consortium of 12 universities for the bid at the end of 2019. Organizing a special issue, “AI and Edge Computing for Trustworthy Robots and Autonomous Systems”, and proposing a workshop on the topic at WCCI2020 (Cancelled, due to COVID-19). Proposing the topic of AI and Edge Computing for Trustworthy Robots and Autonomous Systems as a task force of Adaptive & Dynamic Programming and Reinforcement Learning in the IEEE Computational Intelligence.
