He was a “fur-trapping”apothecary from Cornwall,England. He made his wayto America because he wanted to escape religious persecution. In America, he made a “pilepracticing medicine.” He soonFell into temptation and lived the life of luxury. He bought 3slaves and made his living growingcotton.

Atticus FinchMy father, Atticus Finch,Decided to break the tradition and go to college to read law.When he was admitted to thebar, he came back to Macombto practice law. His first case resulted in the hanging of hisclients. Instead of taking thestate’s second-degree murder charge, the clients decided for a trial. They were found guilty and punished.

I describe Maycomb as anold town. When it rained,the streets turned to amuddy slop. It was hotterduring a summer’s day.By the end of the day, ladies were “like softteacakes with frostings ofsweat and sweet talcum”(Lee 6).

Calpurnia has been with us ever since Jem was born. We had battles, and she always won. She alwayscomplained about my behavior.My mother died when I wastwo. She died from a suddenheart attack. Jem missed her because he remembered her.
