Three Parts of the Declaration of Independence

1st Part - Explained to the world why the colonists wanted

independence. This was an unheard of idea in a world

ruled by monarchs (kings and queens).

2nd Part - A long, detailed list of the complaints against the King,

such as “for imposing taxes on us without our consent”, “for quartering large bodies of armed troops among us”, and “cutting off our trade with all parts of the world”.

3rd Part - Saying that their attempts to fix their grievances had

been continually ignored, the representatives of the United States of America declared their independence from Britain. Thus, no more King George III.XX
