• Coalescence is the combining of many small droplets into one larger drop.

• Supercooling is the cooling of water to below its freezing point without a change in state. Then the water encounters freezing nuclei and forms ice crystals.

• Doppler radar works by bouncing radio waves off of snow or rain. Measuring the return waves tells us about the intensity of the rain or snow.
