ESTEBAN ZULUAGAMFA in Film and Television Producing Colombia

How was your transition coming to Chapman from oversees? The transition of coming from Colombia to Chapman was amazingly smooth. The support I had from the school was tremendous. They helped me out with all the logistical details of coming here and made me feel I wasn’t alone at any time.

What have you enjoyed about your time as a student here? I’ve enjoyed every single day since I came here. The amazing classes and the strong relationships I’ve developed here have being enriching and valuable. I have spent most weekends on sets producing films, and have learned how crucial collaboration, discipline and enthusiasm is to succeed in this field. I have found the student life to be the perfect balance between hard work and fun. Events like pre-screenings of movies that include Q&A’s with directors, producers, and writers from Hollywood is just an example of how fun yet beneficial it is to being a Chapman student.

What services and resources have helped you the most in development for your future career? Having access to the experienced faculty members and guests speakers is a privilege that only we have. For instance, having a one-to-one conversation with Jay Cox, the producer of Avatar, The Jungle Book, and The Dark, among others, is something that you can have here. In addition, all the events that I’ve attend with Alumni have helped me to expand my network and get to know the people growing at the same time as me in the industry.

What advice would you give to another student considering Chapman?Coming to Chapman has been one of the best decision I’ve ever made. That said, if Chapman offers you a program you like, don’t hesitate to apply. You would be surprised by how talented people are here. Also, as an International student I advise you to work very hard on the application essays. This is an exclusive school and only few people have the privilege to come here, so take your time preparing everything and I’m sure you would get in.

Why did you choose Chapman? The culture and passion shared by all students and faculty members is very tangible. Chapman has something unique and that is its students. It is a huge family that understands and practices the sense of community. The top-notch facilities along with experienced professors are great, but what makes this school different is the constant desire to help each other in order to succeed as a society.

SPOTLIGHTSTUDENT PROFILE
