Looking Ahead...

A Few Descriptions

ACOLYTES: Designated confirmands and/or Jr. Sunday School classes will acolyte each month. The Jr SS Opening leader should appoint children to light candles during Openings each Sunday after March. Acolytes, go to an usher immediately following Sunday School, the usher will light your acolytes, go up front by 10:25, and turn off wicks coming back to represent the light staying at church this hour. Extinguish candles during last hymn but keep wicks lit to represent spreading God’s light this week.

NURSERY: If someone wants their pre-kindergarten child to be in the nursery during the worship service, please check if the nursery attendants are present; if not, contact an usher who will find them. Assignment list is in narthex.

MUSIC & FLOWERS: You are responsible for providing or asking someone else to provide special music for your designated Sunday. Also, please bring flowers, real or artificial, to set on the flower stand at the altar or use an arrangement in the room off the stage or in the overflow closet. Assignment list is in narthex. Thank you!

Believing God

The Women’s Bible Study group concluded with a salad and soup supper December 12 at Sue Koster’s home. Throughout the ten weeks, women watched Beth Moore’s DVD entitled “Believing God.” Each week we stated the Five Statement Pledge of Faith: “God is who He says He is. God can do what He says He can do. I am who God says I am. I can do all things through Christ. God’s Word is alive and active in me.” Mark 9:23 says that we must have hope and that nobody has the right to take that hope away from us. Here are some of Beth’s inspirational words: Have a blast with each other in His word! Miracles can happen; we cannot take the supernatural out of Christianity. God delights in our company. Keep portraying our heritage. We thank God for loving us enough to keep changing us. We will have seasons when God requires everything we’ve got. The more we clap for Him, the more likely He’ll come in with an encore. There is no high like the Most High! We will not meet during the winter but will reconvene next fall.
