The ChannelMaster TX7T/RX7T is available in single band, dual band or tri-band configurations. Frequency bands are available from 1.5-15.4 GHz. The ChannelMaster includes an integrated HD/SD MPEG2 encoder/ decoder with COFDM, VSB and FM modulators.

The TX Control Unit contains the HD/SD MPEG2 encoder and COFDM modulator that has a low delay mode of less than 75 msec. For increased flexibility a wide array of inputs/outputs are provided, including Com-posite video/audio, SDI, HD-SDI, ASI and 70 MHz. The ASI input/output are ideal for use with an external MPEG2 encoder or to support digital repeater applications.

For FM operation, an internal SDI to composite converter is integrated providing seamless operation between analog FM and digital COFDM modes. This eliminates the need for an external converter when used in an SDI plant. This feature also de-embeds the audios.

The RF Head contains the RF Up-Converter and Power Amplifier with analog powers to 12 Watts and digital powers to 5 Watts. The Control Unit and the RF Head mount easily to tripods and are connected by a Triax cable that extends operation to distances in excess of 600 meters.

The ChannelMaster TX7T/RX7T features software generated modulation formats. Available formats include—COFDM, FM (NTSC/PAL) and VSB. As additional digital modulation formats become available, the radios can be easily updated. This feature increases the flexibility of the Channel-Master and helps avoid obsolescence.

The ChannelMaster is equipped with a front panel smart display, five quick keys, and 15 quick-store preset buttons for quick set up and opera-tor convenience. For worldwide operation, the ChannelMaster includes a universal AC/DC power supply that enables operation from 90 to 260 VAC and 11 to 32 VDC.

Smart DisplayThe Nucomm ChannelMaster offers optimum flexibility, is easy to use, and sets up fast in the field. The front panel smart dis-play and internal

microprocessor are used to control and monitor all functions and operating parameters including everything from modulation/demodu-lation and channel selection to RF power levels and audio sub-carrier programming. All parameters of the modulator and MPEG2 encoder are set via the smart display. When the modulator parameters are set the encoder is also automatically set.

Quick KeysNo need to wade deep into menus for that set up function that you need in a hurry. The front panel has five quick keys which provide quick access to commonly used functions such as analog/digital selection, input selection, modulation mode, audio functions, color bars and standby mode.

Quick-Store User PresetsTo meet operator demands, fifteen quick store preset keys are provided for recall of predefined transmitter/receiver settings. The operator can instantly switch between pre-programmed modes of operation.

Dynamic Color BarsThe dynamic test pattern generator func-tions in both the analog and the digital modes. A programmable 16 character ID is included and contains alpha and numeric characters. The dynamic pattern offers several characters that are blink-ing. This is necessary for digital opera-tion when the pattern must show some motion in order to verify the link.

Inputs & OutputsThe transmitter and receiver control units offer separate connectors for ASI, SDI, 70 MHz and video. All input/out-put and power connectors are located on the lower portion of the front panel. A Lemo triaxial connector is located on the rear of the unit. A “D” connector is located on the side of the unit for full RS-232 remote control.

System Configuration:The ChannelMaster Series is a very flexible microwave link that can be configured according to the individual customer’s needs. As a base unit the ChannelMaster is supplied in a single band format in the 2 GHz, 7 GHz or 13 GHz band. It is configured for both AC and DC operation. The basic unit is supplied in a low power configuration for the band chosen and without modulator/demodulator but with a 70 MHz input/output.

The system is then built up by adding any or all of the following:

n Analog FM modulator/demodulator, SD or SD/HDn MPEG2/COFDM/VSB encoder/decoder modulator/demodula-

Tripod Mounted Portable SystemNucomm offers a wide variety of portable system products and ac-cessory items including: medium and heavy duty tripods, portable antennas-including megahorn and parabolic configurations in 2, 3 and 4’ sizes. Carry/shipping cases (all sizes) and batteries/adapters, L-brackets and multiplexers for duplex operation are also available. The configurations include simplex, duplex and repeater systems.

SDI Converter Built-InFor systems that are fully designed for SDI, there's no more need for expensive external SDI-Composite converters when Analog FM operation is used, be-cause we've built-in a professional grade SDI-to-composite converter into our FM Modulator. Additionally, the embedded audio on the SDI can be de-embed-ded and applied to the audio sub-carriers.
