Channelling her inner Blondie, Kezia Lloyd sang the WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff band ‘On the Brinck’ to victory at the 2016 Construction Rocks battle of the bands. She hollered out those grungy notes with her own signature falsetto overtones and left the competition on the brink of defeat. Winning and striving to deliver the best is replicated in Kezia’s day job, as an Associate leading the New South Wales (NSW) Acoustics team. She draws on her experience as a Mechatronics Engineer to develop innovative acoustics solutions for private and public clients within multiple sectors. Kezia’s career history is brimming with projects delivered for several blue chip clients including Google, PwC, Ergon Energy, Goldman Sachs, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Qantas, Transport for NSW and various universities. These projects span across the globe including Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the Middle East. One of Kezia’s career highlights is the work she did with Charles Sturt University. She says, ‘This was the first project I led from start to finish. The scope of work was challenging but rewarding, as we delivered an improved learning environment for students by having state-of-the-art ceiling microphones installed.’ When asked what advice she would give to budding acoustics professionals and others her response is passionate yet pragmatic, ‘Be inspired by your craft. Whether it’s engineering or playing in a band, whatever it is, love what you do, and you’ll be good at it.’ By night Kezia is inspired by anything musical, by day she is inspired by helping to introduce a level of governance into the acoustics industry that would raise standards and create a better built environment.

is passionate yet pragmatic, ‘Be inspired by your craft. Whether it’s engineering or playing in a band,

whatever it is, love what you do, and you’ll be good at it.’

By night Kezia is inspired by anything musical, by day she is inspired by helping to introduce a level of
