RURAL TOURISM

Project Scheme:-

• Identification of villages

• Preparation of detailed plan for implementation of the project

• Assistance under the Scheme: A maximum of Rs.50 lakhs would be sanctioned under this scheme.

RURAL TOURISM

Implementation: -

• The implementation would be done through a Convergence Committee headed by the District Collector.

• Activities like improving the environment, hygiene, infrastructure etc. would be eligible for assistance.

• Apart from providing financial assistance the focus would be to tap the resources available under different schemes of Deptt. of Rural Development, State Govts. and other concerned Departments of the Govt. of India.

• Under Product/Infrastructure and Destination Development Scheme funds to a maximum of Rs 5 crore per destination is made available to state governments for implementation based on the project proposals.

• New emerging areas eco-tourism, health tourism and wildlife tourism get priority under this scheme.

• The Ministry provides Central Financial Assistance to State Governments/Union Territories for development of eco-tourism project

Financial Assistance

100% Central Financial Assistance (CFA) under thescheme -“Product/Infrastructure Development forDestinations and Circuits” providing componentsadmissible in the scheme to the State UTGovernments to develop Caravan and Camping Parkson Government / Corporation land.

CFA of 25% shall be provided for purchase ofCaravans. It would be provided to State Governments/ UT Administration.
