Funding – What’s changed?
• The Government is significantly reducing the grant we
receive and encouraging us not to increase Council Tax.
• We need to make savings of £7.1 million over the next five
years, that’s 18.2% of our current revenue budget.
• This is in addition to the £1.3 million of savings already
agreed for 2015/15.

Promotion of Fire Sprinklers
• More can be done to protect East Sussex businesses and
homes against the devastating effects of fire.
• We will continue to lobby and influence partners and the
community and promote fire sprinklers to become a more
commonplace safety feature in homes and businesses.
• A greater uptake of fire sprinklers could make the County
more resilient and ensure needless fires do not hinder
economic recovery.
