If you solve them all, you will be rewarded with lots of attractive souvenirs.

After the main event, a courtyard ritual, “Pangut” (with performing troupes and visitors alto-gether) will be held at the center of Gwanghwamun Plaza. Centering on a pole symbolizing coexistence, the entire performing troupes and citizens will savor the festive mood.

Have you had a nice lunch? In the afternoon, the royal family’s ceremony of re-porting the marriage of the Crown Princess to ancestors at Jongmyo Shrine will be reenacted. To get to Jongmyo easily, take Subway Line No. 3 at Gyeongbokgung Station and get off at Jongno 3-Ga Station.

In the afternoon, there are special performances at the Deoksugung and Gyeo-ngbokgung palaces. At Deoksugung, you can listen to explanations about ban-quet music and dances recorded in Jinyeon Uigwe during the 5th year of King Gojong’s reign of the Joseon Dynasty, among the many uigwe (ceremony manu-als) of Joseon. Then, at Gyeongbokgung Palace, Lecture on Korean Royal Cuisine and Janggo and Onggi-Making Demonstrations are offered.

Enjoy the nighttime opening of Changgyeonggung Palace! We open Chang-gyeonggung at night during the Royal Palace Cultural Festival. After you purchase a ticket beforehand via Interpark and Auction, you can enjoy the sound of 530 years of history and scenery offered by Changgyeonggung at night. You can also see the appearance of the palace expressed in shadow at Tongmyeongjeon Hall under the autumn night sky.

The Specific Venue Art Project will present installation art, sound performance, and video art at the Royal Garden of Changdeokgung Palace. It will offer multi-sen-sory experiences to visitors by reinterpreting the history and natural environment of Changdeokgung in audiovisual art.

Today, we hold the Jongmyo Shrine royal ancestral ritual and music, Korea’s intangible cultural heritage No. 1. If you want to see the ritual with a guided explanation by gugak experts, come to Jongmyo Shrine by 10 am. If you want to watch a nighttime performance, be at the shrine at 8 pm. The performance of “Jongmyo Jeryeak (Korean Royal Ancestral Ritual Music) with Exposition” held at 10 pm is open to all visitors free of charge. For the “Nighttime Performance of Jongmyo Jeryeak (Korean Royal Ancestral Ritual Music)” at 8 pm, however, you need to purchase a ticket beforehand via Internet reservation.

How did King Gojong look like when he received foreign envoys during the Korean Empire period? The “Reenactment of the Diplomatic Minister’s Ceremony of the Korean Empire” will be performed as a theatrical play at Jeonggwanheon Hall of Deoksugung Palace twice a day, 2:30 pm and 4 pm. After the receiving of envoys of each country, various performances such as performance of Western military band and sword dance will be held.

Parents with elementary school children, take note! The Jongmyo Grand Ritual Food Experience, which will be held from 2 pm to 4 pm, is a program consisting of a theoretical lecture on ritual foods for families to understand easily, trying on of ritual costumes, ritual food setting table, and tasting experiences. The program is offered to 10 teams (families) per session on a first-come, first-served basis
via telephone. Please check the application period via the website of Jongmyo.

Then, we open the pavilion of the Royal Garden as a space for visitors to read books. Visit the Royal Garden in September, the beginning of the autumn season, and enjoy the beautiful atmosphere at the Royal Garden while reading books. A separate admission ticket is required for the Royal Garden and can be purchased at the website beforehand or at the site.
