EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS
Ma. Cresencia P. Bartolome
ABSTRACT
The Philippines High School Education System (SHES) has been enhanced from ten
(10) years of basic education to a twelve (12) years program known as K-12
Education Plan to be implemented by school year 2016. The objective of this study is
to identify the duplication of the of the courses that might have been occurred due to
the introduction of K – 12 specialization tracks especially towards the five-year
Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA) degree program. All the bachelor degree
programs include general education subjects and specialized learning courses some of
which have been included in the K-12 course curriculum. Indeed, the changes brought
about by K-12 initiative may have result to redundancy if the subjects offered in K-12
(Elementary to High School) are also being offered in colleges. The research will use
descriptive research method to know, “what are the non-accounting subjects in the
Accountancy program that are being covered in the K-12 Education Plan? And should
be scrapped from the Accountancy Program / Higher Education” and “are those
subjects really necessary for the effective discharge of responsibilities of the future
accountants?” The analysis of the pertinent data would result to enhanced BSA
program and once implemented will make education more economical and
competitive with other ASEAN (Association of South East Asian Nations) education

FRIENDLY FRAMEWORK
Maricris N, Macatangay
ABSTRACT
Responsibilities of different mining companies do not end at the end of their operation
or after they have mined out a certain area. The mining areas need to be
environmentally protected. In effort to resolve such issues of mine tailing, the
Philippines Government have put in place the several guidelines that need to put in
place as state policy to protect the environmental issues to prevent its impact on the
safety and quality of the lives of people. This study is done to develop a framework to
rehabilitate mined out areas. In fact to decrease the worse effects of mining activities
from the start and until the end of its operation usually leave environmental and social
problems unattended. In order to solve these problems and avoid the multiplication of
its effect to the environment and people around its area, this study suggested a
rehabilitation framework. Rehabilitation will focus on minimizing the contact risk of

ABSTRACT
The age of information technology (internet) has already transformed many aspects of
modern business and living, and promises to bring even more thorough changes in the
future. In contrast, tax laws are normally slow to changing realities. This study looks
at the problem of taxation compliance of Filipino consultants serving foreign
companies who may not be registered in the Philippines. Income derived by the
consultants as a result of their online job will be difficult if not possible to track. The
BIR is likely to miss out the tax collections on the increasing services that can be
delivered electronically (over the internet) to employers or clients who may not be
registered in the Philippines. This study provides a framework on how the Expertise

Rosario Corazon O. Arzaga, CPA, MBA
ABSTRACT
Amidst the global financial crisis experience by most businesses across the world, the
Philippines has seen an opportunity in providing business process outsourcing
services to help their clients save on cost and improve efficiency. Business process
outsourcing (BPO) companies in the Philippines have significantly increased in
numbers making the Philippines compete with top players like India, China, Malaysia,
Mexico and Russia. An efficient working capital management for Philippine business
process outsourcing companies is essential for creating value for the shareholders.
