Question:
How do I change an Employee Code?
Solution:
1. Make a backup of your data by going to File…Backup
2. Select the directory on your computer where Pastel Payroll must save the backup.
3. The following screen is displayed:
4. Select Process.
Note: Do not make Backups in your Company folder, always Backup to a separate
folder.

5. Ensure all your employees have the status “Not Processed”.
6. If employees are processed, clear your run flags.
7. Select Process…Clear run flags.
8. On the Employee Filter, ensure that all the relevant employees are reflecting under
Employees to Process field.
9. Select OK.
10. Select Next

11. Select Process.
12. Select Finish.

13. Go to Utility…Change Employee Codes Assistant
14. Select the block below the Employee Code in order to highlight it.
15. Select the magnifying glass and select the employee whose code to be changed.
16. Select Enter.

17. Insert the new code in the New Code column.
18. Select Next
19. Select Process
20. Select Finish.
21. Go to Edit…Employee Masterfile, Select the employee and ensure the code is
reflecting the changes.
