Reflex-drainageIn Chan’beauté and Dien Chan, client preparation is essential for the best results. This protocol uses simple,

gentle massages which, thanks to the sensitivity of our face, communicates directly with the brain.Applied at the beginning of a treatment, to relax your client

and to relieve surface pain that causes stress to the skin, we also “prepare the ground” to be more responsive to precise stimulations.Manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) requires a certified therapist to perform the treatment, however, as the Reflex-drainage protocol, (also called the 6 zones massage) is not performed directly on the major lymph node clusters, placed along the larger of the lymph vessels, there is no possibility of creating a lymphatic blockage. Rather, it sends sig-nals to the brain, which in turn, activates the nodes to drain themselves.

Put into practiceThe Reflex-drainage protocol is based on the Dien Chan diagram of the reflection on the face of the extremities (red man/blue woman). To obtain the best results select the multireflex tool best adapted to the shape and skin type of the face; the triple end of the Comet nº133, or the smooth sphere of Detector n°101. Both permit a soft and steady sweeping action. If, during the treatment the skin is pull-ing, use a drop of light oil or light mois-turizer to reduce friction. Sweep each area noted in the steps about 30 times, twice a day. This can

be repeated up to four times a day if there is a lot of edema (water retention) in the feet, ankles, legs and arms.

Though clients come to resolve visible issues and restore their beauty, we know that Chan’beauté allows us to add a therapeutic dimension to the æsthetic treatment.

From the first session. Twice a week.

Six easy steps1 Inner corner of the eye

On the side of the nose gently sweep up and down from the inner corner of the eye towards the inner edge of the eyebrow. Starting on the left, work both sides. The diagram reflects the neck, the armpit; the area where the lymphatic liquid reaches the bloodstream, and the arm. As in Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD), it is the first step to opening the lymph nodes that correspond to the left and right internal jugu-lar vein and the left and right subclavian arteries.

2 The noseGently sweep up and down the cen-tre of the nose about 30 times. This area corresponds to the thoracic duct, (the longest and largest lymph vessel, which starts in the abdomen and ends at the base of the neck) and the right lymphatic duct. Both ducts drain lymph liquid into the circulatory (blood) system, so that excess fluid and toxins may be expelled by the body.On the diagram, the nose is the reflec-tion of the spine and back.

3 The nasal wingsFollowing the small crease, sweep up and down about 30 times from the top of the nasal wing to the bottom of the nostril, starting on the left side, then repeating on the right. On the diagram, this area corresponds to the inguinal lymph nodes (the groin), the popliteal lymph nodes (the hollow at the back of the knee) and the legs.

4 Rictus lineSweep up and down along both rictus lines (smile) where it meets the top edge of the nasal wing down to the corner of the mouth, again 30 times starting on the left side.On the diagram this area corresponds to the inguinal lymph nodes (the groin), the popliteal lymph nodes (the hollow at the back of the knee) and the buttocks and thighs. As well, the diagram of the Viscera on the face (internal or-gans) reflects the lymph nodes in the small intestine and the abdomen.

5 Chin creaseSweep the chin along the horizontal crease about 30 times. As seen on the diagram, as well as the ankles, often an area for edema (swelling), here we are also stimulating the lymph nodes in the abdomen and groin area, as reflected on the diagram of the Viscera on the face.

6 Lateral of the earsAs in MLD, the “lymph node net” must be closed to complete the treat-ment.Sweep around the ears, coming from the back to the front, about 30 times. For ladies with long hair, a clip to keep it back will prevent it from being tangled in the multire-flex tool. The lymph nodes in the neck and the retroaruicular lymph nodes just below the ear are reflected on the neck of the Dien Chan “Penfield” diagram.

History of Dien Chan

In 1975, after the Vietnam war, Prof. Bùi Quôc Châu, whilst treating people with severe drug addictions (a byproduct of the war) developed a hypothesis that the face reflects all parts of the body; internal, external as well as all it’s systems. During the 1980’s he clinically verified this hy-pothesis and Multireflexology – Dien Chan was born. Unlike conventional reflexology Dien Chan combines many diagrams of reflection and precise facial points to build a multireflexology network that treats therapeutically. Using specially developed, gentle multireflex tools, that won’t damage the skin or cause pain, we enrich our care exponentially. And working on the face (so close to the brain) produces deep results and fast pain relief.

A complementary, natural method, compatible with all medicines!

In 2001, Patryck Aguilar Cassarà met Prof. Châu and became a pas-sionate student of the modality. He wanted to share this very effective method with the western world and in 2002, working in close collabor-ation with Prof. Châu and his sons, the International School of Multire-flexology - Dien Chan (EiMDC) was organized, in Barcelona.Shortly after the school’s creation, Patryck began publishing the Multi-

reflexology - Dien Chan books in a variety of languages, and in 2013 developed the interactive application for iPad - Faceasit; an essential tool for therapists to be able to design treatments - and share them with their clients, so they may continue working on themselves to deepen the effects. The school now has a membership of over three thousand students worldwide, as well as a great team of certified teachers, who offer the unique experience of becoming your own resource. Our research department also de-veloped Chan’beauté. An incredible aesthetic technique which is now practised by several hundred professionals with tremendous clinic-al results.

How to learn? If you are interested in studying and training to deepen your comprehension, we have intensive courses located throughout the world. We teach you how to apply Dien Chan and Chan’beauté on different faces, with different conditions and you will work on prac-tical cases. For many of our students this has become a path of self-discovery that leads them to become aware not only of the beauty they possess, but how to improve their health as well. We also teach you the art of how to “listen to your client” so you can create the best individualized treat-ment program. The complete Multireflexology learning experience comprises of 4 mod-ules: DienChan’reflex, (which includes Chan’beauté), DienChan’pro, DienChan’clinic and DienChan’master.

Dien Chan is complex but not complicated... You’ll see!

What if I want to work alone? If you prefer to start studying on your own, our Apps and books include facial diagrams, combinations of formulas, and various reflex stimulation techniques. By combining theory from the books, practical information from the Faceasit’clinic App and practice, you will quickly be able to design specific treatments for each client.
