THE VALLEY OF TRAIL RUNNINGHead towards Servoz, Les Houches, Chamonix or Vallorcine for new specially adapted trail running routes for all levels.

THE CHAMONIX VALLEY WILL HOST THE SKYRUNNING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS® The championships will be taking place in Chamonix for the first time since they started.Taking place from 27 to 29 June 2014, they will include the KM Vertical, the Mont-Blanc Marathon and the Mont-Blanc 80km.

Take a ride up to the Aiguille de Midi in the aerial tram to enjoy a mountaineering session up on the famous peaks.

GET MOVING

Start the day with a morning of mountain biking on the downhill slopes or through mountain villages and hamlets.

Now for a bit of climbing; choose to stay up high or head down to the valley.

Fancy a hike to soak up the beautiful landscape? Choose from down in the valley or take a trip up high using the ski lifts, head through the forest or marvel at the panoramic views all the way to the glaciers dating back thousands of years.

You can even hop over the border to Italy or Switzerland!

Immediate landing after a para-glide jump.

Head towards the Mer de Glace, the largest glacier in France, by jumping aboard the famous rack train. On the agenda is: the chance to explore the amazing Ice Cave, a trip to the Glaciorium, reading of the landscape by a glaciologist, an exhibition at the Grand Hôtel du Montenvers, a donkey ride and themed walks.

You’ll come across chamois, ibexes and other marmots in the Merlet Animal Park.

Ride up to the Nid d’Aigle (2,380 m) in the Mont-Blanc Tramway, which is the departure point for mountaineers from all over the globe tackling the Mont-Blanc.

ITINERIO: AN INTERACTIVE TRIP AROUND THE CHAMONIX VALLEYItinerio is suitable for all and takes you on five geo-guided walks to explore the natural and cultural heritage of the Valley using different themes: snow and glaciers, crystals, geology, pastoralism, forests, fauna and flora, humankind and our link to the Mont-Blanc mountains, etc. On the agenda are fun and games for the whole family. Current scientific research is linked to the Itinerio—meaning you can become an observer over the walk. In the form of a free application to download for smartphones and tablets, Itinerio is also available by renting tablets in the Chamonix Valley tourist offices.
