PRESIDENT ’S REPORT

Happy New Year! I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday season and took some time to recharge your batteries! Our thanks once again to all those who attended the annual Holiday Dinner Meeting in December, thank you to JD Farms Special Turkey and Krause Berry Farms for the special dinner, and congratulations to the 2017 HD Stafford Citizen of the Year, Michael Jackstien.

The Greater Langley Chamber has a clear focus for the coming year; to provide our members with every opportunity to expand, promote, and enhance their business. We have utilized the membership feedback from the past year’s events to enhance some programs, add additional education opportunities, and provide member only options to our services. We are increasing several of our sponsorship opportunities for you to add extra value to your Greater Langley Chamber membership. To find out further information, please contact our office.

Our Coffee and Conversations program offers our members an opportunity to meeting in a small setting with our local elected officials. All of our MP’s, MLA’s, Mayors and the Chair of Metro Vancouver, will be available to our members over the next six months. Please check for dates and book early as these events

will sell out fast.

Get the most out of your Greater Langley Chamber membership by attending our Member Benefits 101 sessions. This quick half hour program can get you started on the path to using your Chamber membership to the best of its ability. We have added a few minutes on how to manage your online Chamber profile and other info about your login. So, if you are unsure how best to use your Chamber membership, this is the session for you.

On the advocacy scene for 2018 we have the upcoming municipal elections in October so watch for the dates of our Municipal All Candidate Meetings. Leading up to the election, the Chamber will be speaking with its

members to find out what your concerns are regarding business and our municipalities.

As we head into 2018, I am excited to see so many opportunities for our members, I encourage you to consider joining a committee, bring a friend to an event, encourage your staff to get involved with the Chamber, and make the best of your Chamber membership in 2018.

Jack Nicholson, President
