RMIT Extension Challenge yourself and reap the rewards! Student profile Callan Delbridge RMIT Extension Computer Science When I was in Year 10, I had a friend in Year 12 who was doing higher ed studies at RMIT. I thought that’s pretty cool—being in school and studying a university course. I want to do that. I’ve learned about Java and web programming. We learned the really technical stuff and theory but put it into practice developing a website, front and back end. I’m much stronger in my programming now. I’m developing my own website to strengthen everything I’ve learned. Most of our assignments were group work and I met loads of other RMIT students. It was good to speak to them about what they liked, their other subjects and to learn from them. My tutors were great too—always willing to help out and go above and beyond for us. And they were always throwing new and different content at us. They’re so enthusiastic about their subjects. RMIT is really strong in its technology foundations. Other universities don’t specialise as much. That’s one of the reasons I want to come here and do my computer science degree. Also, being placed with all the current degree students means I know what I’m getting myself into! rmit.edu.au 0247 0817

When I was in Year 10, I had a friend in Year 12 who was doing higher ed studies at RMIT.

They’re

so enthusiastic about their subjects.

RMIT is really strong in its technology foundations. Other universities don’t specialise as much.

That’s one of the reasons I want to come here and do my computer science

degree. Also, being placed with all the current degree students means I know what I’m getting myself into!
