Many loyal persons from the civil rights era have entered eternity or perhaps now tired from thehistoric struggle they have incurred. However, one person who went to jail with the Dr. MartinLuther Kings, Jr., still has that spiritual fire that she now passes on to those who attend

, where she is the servant leader.

Pastor Hall, recently related her African American historic experiences at the St. Mary African MethodistEpiscopal Church in Greenville, South Carolina, where the spiritual leader is . Those whoattend were blessed to have heard an educational experience regarding those things that were noted first-handily by Hall. She also spoke about the struggle that was on the seen before and after the demise of Dr. King.

Hall, has a love for youth as it is displayed when you visit The Intercessory Center, where she teaches andpreaches the word of God. Young people have always played an acute role in her ministry… as she emulatesthose leaders before her. She has been spiritually trained and physically disciplined from early days of her civil-rights movements with the marches and sitting at segregated food counters to fight for freedom. Hall said, “Atthat time the hearts of the youths were ready to receive the spiritual message that was imparted by dedicatedministers of the gospel. We left our jobs and headed for the designated areas to begin a display of unity… andwe were finally heard. We had need to go though the trials and tribulations to get to where we are today! Thestruggle was covered with blood and many tears, but had we not gone through the experiences, youth wouldnot have our shoulders to stand on” concluded Hall.

Probation Challenge has always had support fromloyal Cook County Circuit Court Judges.

We salute all the judiciary for their courage to helpus educate youth men and women filtering through

the criminal justice system. We said…

Sixth District Cmdr. Fred Waller and Officer Richard Wooten will be giving away AfricanAmerican history books to 6, 7th and 8th grade students today, 10 a.m., Friday, February 28, 2014,at the Martha M. Ruggles Elementary School, 7831 S. Prairie, Chicago, in hopes that learningabout their history will replace negative behavior with a sense of pride.

“We feel that African American history should be taught in school,” said Wooten who is also aminister. He believes if they learn about their history and all that Blacks have accomplished “a lotof crime would not be committed.”

“We’re hoping these books will help change the mindset of the students” by teaching them fromwhence they come. Wooten believes it will prepare them to chart out their future on a morepositive note.

I would like to thank all the great people who came out to make this “An African American HistoryCelebration with Solutions” the best ever.

I’ve have fought many battles in my life time, but often we become weary whentrying to carry out the Lord orders to help our many youths who are in deep trouble.Trouble often brought on by the spiritual wickedness that often sits in highplace…and often about the matters of concerted efforts to devise ways to incarcerateour youth.

If we would put as much energy into prevention as we do in locking ‘them up’ andthrowing away the key … what a far better world we would be in.

But, remember that if we educated - and educated well, we would not have to incarcerate. Why?Because education brings about awareness. Awareness, brings on the ability to think. And, when ayoung man or women can think - they prayerfully then can make rational decisions.

We have had enough foolishness in our lives - let’s give our youth a chance to live the life that Goddesired for them… life more abundantly.
