Ingredients• 1/3 cup plaster of paris • 1/3 cup cold water• 1 cup water-based paint in the color of your choice

Stir the plaster and water together until smooth. Mix in one cup of paint.

Tips• Chalk paint doesn’t require sanding beforehand. • Look for plaster of paris on the paint supply aisle at the home improvement store.• Buy a sample size of paint instead of buying an entire can. (Sample sizes are usually at least one cup.)• Pick any color of paint you want. Making your own chalk paint widens your color options.
